I did not hear any noise either, I placed the OPT really far away from the amp

Also what flea watt friendly speakers have you guys tried? Don't have room for big horns so any recommends would help. Looked at zu.

Just to be cleat the OPTs are the big output transformers that the back of the amp. We are talking about moving the power supply. You need to experiment with it but from my findings you need at least a couple feet of space from the power supply.  Other components will vary.  Just be warned that the noise is most likely from other electronics being too close to the amp.

I briefly looked into the Zu's but the FR of the drivers seems all over the place.  I am going to get something from the Omega Super 3 series.  One of these days I will pull the trigger on on it.  You could also try the Tekton Pendragon

S/N 4 for me. It seems to be taking its time breaking in. I'm on day six but it could still use a little help on transients. They were crazy at first.

The Shuguan Nature Sound are pretty nice. Great extension but a little light on mid-bass. Great treble.

I currently have a pair of dual mono plate's and a RCA clone both from Sylvania. Pretty nice. I want to try some Kron's once I recover from buying the amp.

I can compare it to the Mk2 once it settles down.

Is the S/N the big number on the back of amp?

If it is, I see a BIG 5

Then it should be right, Judi told me there might only be 5 mkiv or 6, and will not be made in the future due to its uniqueness.

BTW, I still have extra pair of NOS WE417A never used and have matched date code, if someone is interested I can sell for 180 shipped.

Any thoughts about dust cover? Needed or not? Maybe get custom acrylic one made with right cut outs. Any interest if I try and source one? Wonder if we could actually get ones with holes on top and leave it on while playing or is that tube suicide. Noticed my lampizator has acrylic top with holes.

I wouldn't worry about a dust cover.  Also from my experience you have the power supply WAY too close to the amp.  I am fairly certain if you move it away a couple of feet you will get better performance.

That's super weird because I'm S/N 3. Is your amp using Cinemags or Hammond's?

What difference did the we417a make for you?
