STAX SR-1 (Vintage) ' 1st Electrostatic Earspeaker'
They very similar. They are like time machine ,you put them on your head and you go back to the sixties :) Sound is not very good compare to Lambdas. They have poor stereophony compare to later Stax so it is time machine, part of a histry, colectors item more then for listening. So many years since...- bearded man

History of the AKG K1000?
4 series ,each 1000 pcs ? are you sure ? Before you said: "About "bass heavy" and "bass light" versions: I remember back that the original ~ 5000 pcs was shipped with a black bright box. This version - I'm sure - was produced with the target 25Hz f0. There was no additional changes at least...- bearded man

History of the AKG K1000?
Big thanks Heinz I thought too - membrane is not at very center of magnet coil gap and when moving with low bass hitting or touching magnet coil . I placed magnet coil in the "basket" but higher, above mambrane edge . So high to be above mambrane but close enough to let the magnet field move...- bearded man

Stax SR-009 Channel Imbalance Trouble / Driver Problem?
Yes I would choose Orpheus from those three.Going further I would choose SR-Omega over SR-009.I like soundstage , deep, musical presentation with tone litle more on warm rather than a bit on bright and cold side. Also i prefer bit more soul and magic than neutrality or reality. That how are...- bearded man

Stax SR-009 Channel Imbalance Trouble / Driver Problem?
I don't think Stax is making two batchs of 009, one better for dealers and second worst for PJ. There is one production line and I think all 009 are built with same quality.May be PJ is selling more 009 than other dealers and that is why issue is more popular on PJs headphones.- bearded man
