Going fully Wireless IEMs. Too soon? Or are we there yet?
Alright, looking to snag a pair of wireless earbuds in the $150-200 range. Managed to not buy any new headphones for the past few years, and I feel out of the loop. Any suggestions?- ibage

Massdrop x Sennheiser HD 58X Jubilee Review & Measurements
Compared to the HD600, its noticeably less detailed. The 600 definitely has the wider soundstage, and the 650 (from memory) is a bit wider than the 600. Id agree with the guy above about the soundstage and imaging. But its not as "bright" as the 600. This is from A/B in my personal inventory. I...- ibage

Massdrop x Sennheiser HD 58X Jubilee Review & Measurements
It really isnt too much different from the 600. The mids took a small hit, but Id say its smack dab in the middle of 600 and 650. The bass isnt as (dont roast me) "sloppy" sounding as the 650. It has more sub bass than the 650/6xx. I could justify keeping it along side the HD600/50 easy.- ibage

I have the velour pads, so I cant comment on the hybrids. They did the same for these as they did for my HD600. Increased the soundstage a bit and made the mid range stand out a bit. The bass takes a small hit, as does the comfort. But again, this is just the velour pads.- ibage

Massdrop x Sennheiser HD 58X Jubilee Review & Measurements
I think for the price, the quality is fine. Id say theyre on par with the HD5-- series in terms of build quality, but compared to the HD600/650, the plastic does feel a little cheap.- ibage

Massdrop x Sennheiser HD 58X Jubilee Review & Measurements
First impressions of these really remind me of an HD600 (duh...) with a bass bump. I remember when researching for my initial upgrade form the HD555, I read that the HD600 was too "polite" for metal genres. While I never cared too much for their presentation, I have to say these (HD58X) do not...- ibage

Sennheiser HD 569
Yes. HD5-- series use the same pads. You can use the pads from your HD569 on your HD598 and vice versa. I got the HD558 pads for my 598 Cs.- ibage

ATTICUS and EIKON, the new dynamic driver headphones from ZMF
Alright, with Summer just around the corner, its starting to heat up a bit. Especially in a room with a PC spitting hot air and a Schiit Valhalla 2. Its hot in here. As much as I love the Eikon, the stock pads get extremely hot. How do the suede pads fare on the Eikon? Ive heard mostly negative...- ibage

Sennheiser HD 600 Impressions Thread
The Valhalla 2 seems to enhance the qualities of each headphone. It was more detailed, the soundstage was wider, and the separation was much more noticeable. They were also a bit brighter. This might have been because theyre only 150ohm whereas the HD600 is 300ohm, but what Im saying is the...- ibage

Sennheiser HD 600 Impressions Thread
I really wouldnt say that about the Valhalla 2. It did widen the soundstage and get rid of the "veil" on the HD600, but on the HD700, it just seemed to emphasize the inherent qualities of them. The Valhalla 2 is a strange beast in that regard. At least this is the case with stock tubes.- ibage

New Gaming Headset, need some advices
Senns tend to be very comfortable. Theyre a bit anemic when it comes to bass, but the soundstage is nice and wide and foot steps are very easy to hear. That would be my suggestion if amping is an issue. The HD598/579/559 are worth looking at. Alternatively, I use DT990 a lot too. The soundstage...- ibage

New Gaming Headset, need some advices
I would suggest the Senns over the Beyers typically. But the 32ohm 990 I have works fine without any amping. I can use it from the phone and right out of my Xbox controller with no issues. However, to touch on a point I feel worth making, if the OP is looking for competitive play, the Senns are...- ibage

New Gaming Headset, need some advices
HD579/598 DT990/770 32 or 80ohm I use my DT990 and a desktop mic for gaming. Typically, headset iterations of headphones are just more expensive for the gaming branding they slap on it. I would buy a cheap mic and spend your money on a decent pair of headphones.- ibage

ATTICUS and EIKON, the new dynamic driver headphones from ZMF
Finally got my Eikon in today. The vocals are absolutely amazing. If I had to pick one thing out immediately, it's the vocals. Still adjusting to wearing closed headphones (big HD600 fan), but the clarity is so much better than Im used to with closed.- ibage

Sennheiser HD 600 Impressions Thread
No way. Not at all. The DT990 has a pretty open and expansive soundstage. The HD600 has bettering imaging for sure, but its extremely narrow. Theres a good reason people avoid the HD600 for gaming, while praising the DT990. Its wider and far more open compared to the HD600. Hell, Id venture to...- ibage

ATTICUS and EIKON, the new dynamic driver headphones from ZMF
Im a little curious. Ive been with the HD600 for about 7 years at this point and I recently purchased the Eikon based on impressions and reviews. I have heard the Atticus and I was almost sold on those until I had an exchange with someone here. Im just a little curious, does anyone have any word...- ibage

People not happy with HD650: with what did you change them that makes you happy now?
I had the HD650 a few years back. I think they're great headphones. I really do, but the HD600 did something the 650 did not. Both are full bodied, but the 600 just had a bit more clarity and felt reasonably uncolored. That said, I had the 650 with the original Schiit Asgard so I never got to...- ibage

Headphones for metal music - ultimate solution
I'd like to thank those in this thread who helped out so much. Just pulled the trigger on the Eikon as I have been looking for something between the HD600 and 700. When tax season rolls around next year, I will more than likely pick up the Atticus as well. The advice given throughout the thread...- ibage

Schiit Owners Unite
The Valhalla 2 is not a tradition tube amp. At least the sound isnt. I use it for the HD600 and 700 primarily. It has somewhat of a dry sound to me, but that isnt a baf thing! For the HD600, is made it a bit quicker and helped with the veil. It also increased the soundstage a little bit as...- ibage

Best Open Headphones for Gaming? $300-$500
Compared to the HD600, the soundstage is much larger. The upper end is very detailed and is perfect for detecting footsteps. The lower end has enough thump to give immersion while never intruding on the detail. For music, I prefer the HD600. Its not great at all for gaming though.- ibage
