= Hifiman “Fuzzor” Mod = (Driver backwave felt damping modification)
Considering doing the fuzzor mod for the 6se's. Reading through the past few pages, it seems like it may not be necessary? Does anyone have any comments on whether the changes are positive? I found that they were great on my 500's but not sure if that would be the case for the 6se's as well.- Ethereal Sound

Sony Walkman custom firmware (non-Android)
Quick question, is it possible for there to be a custom firmware feature to be added where you can create a temporary queue? (Similar to roon or spotify play next/add to queue). It's the only qualm I have with the Sony firmware.- Ethereal Sound

I've heard all. Primavera >>> AIC-10>= Envy. If cost was no option, I'd get a Primavera for sure. It's pretty much as perfect as an amp as you can hope to get.- Ethereal Sound

If you can swing it, just apply a low bass shelf via eq. The susvara respond extremely well to eq. When I'm feeling like more bass, I add a 5db low shelf and there's no distortion that I can perceive.- Ethereal Sound

Awesome that you're enjoying the Susvaras. They are truly one of the, if not the, best all rounder headphones that you can get. With regard to 1: The stock pads are best. If you absolutely must get aftermarket pads, you can get the Dekoni hybrid fenestrated pads and they should be pretty good...- Ethereal Sound

No, I've had one with driver failure. The other had an internally bent connector. I'm waiting on my third replacement. The susvara I had before ran on all my gear for years without issue so it's not a DC offset issue- Ethereal Sound

Yeah I suppose I've just been unfortunate enough to have some bad luck. I figured HFM CS was based in China. I was more upset about 1 email a day because I wouldn't get a response until the next day even if I would respond to their email within 10 mins. With my replacement process , it seems a...- Ethereal Sound

I agree that patience is a virtue. I don't expect immediate replacement but you know, this is my third replacement, through no fault of my own and it's been over 2 1/2 months. Some may find that acceptable for a headphone of this cost but I certainly don't.- Ethereal Sound

Kind of a quick update and sort of warning for potential hifiman customers but my recent experience with hifiman customer support has got to be one of the most exhausting and annoying experiences I've ever had with any company in hifi. I'm waiting on my third replacement Susvara (first came with...- Ethereal Sound

The Continuation Of The Sony Walkman 1Z/1A Thread!
Yup, I just wanted to make sure that even with LDAC, I wasn't compromising the SQ as much as compared to just getting an M2 and running the streaming app directly out of it.- Ethereal Sound

SONY NW-WM1Z M2 / WM1A M2
Curious, just how good is the WM1Z in BT mode? In the event I want to stream music through qobuz, is it better to just get WM1A/Z-M2 or just stream out of my phone into the WM1Z via BT?- Ethereal Sound

It really does. The balance control alone practically justified the pre for me, way more convenient than messing with roon filters- Ethereal Sound

HiFiMan Susvara
This issue nearly drove me insane for a while. A lot of songs are not mixed with vocals being perfectly centered. This is especially noticeable on susvara though I notice it on all my headphones. I thought that I had channel imbalance, or something was wrong with my amp/dac, etc. After trying...- Ethereal Sound

The Reference 6SN7 Thread
Thanks for your thoughtful reply. I'll look into the 6J5's you mentioned. I do like the 70's melz though I do wish a little bit more warmth in the mids. The highs, while fairly bright, didn't bother me very much most of the time. In that sense, if there's something that is just a little smoother...- Ethereal Sound

Woah, wasn't expecting such awesome replies. Thanks everyone for your input, I've got a lot to look through! I'm super new to tubes but the Melz I had were from 1976 and I found them to be very detailed and spacious with really great linear bass, almost bright sounding, and a little bit lean in...- Ethereal Sound

The Reference 6SN7 Thread
Hello! I just wanted to check into this thread because I was curious about alternatives to the MELZ 1578 (Sadly, one mine died yesterday). If it exists, I'm basically looking for the most detailed sounding 6SN7 that still retains some mid/low end warmth.- Ethereal Sound
