    Wireless headphone advice needed.

Ive been wanting a wireless headphone for a while, mainly used when walking around and as a head-set. Got a bit interested in the noise cancelling phones, quiet backgrond, no need to turn up the volume that much saving my hearing. So I have tried 3 headphones lately: Sony 1000xm3, bose QC35II...

    Recommend headphone for iphone 7.

Sorry for another what-to-buy but I'm not really that active in hifi anymore, and time is very limited with family and work these days to allow for hours of search and reading up to get a few candidates worth auditioning. Need help, with other words.   So, I just upgraded from an iphone6 to a...

The Audeze LCD-2 Ortho thread (New)

How do you  treat the leather? Using the wood-care kit? A bit odd that there is no wood-care kit for sale on audeze's homepage, but there is a leather-care kit. Is this really needed, seen both yes and no to that.

    Amp recommendations for Audeze LCD-2

Guessing, but I'd assume that headphones uses some kind of equalizing filter at the input to tweak the signature. That filter might not behave as intended if you replace the voltage driver with a current driver. In normal filters for instance the first pole will be removed by doing this.

    Amp recommendations for Audeze LCD-2

Brighter? I'd want mine to be less bright, calm down the upper part a bit. But then again, when using my HD650 I'm surprised how they sound as if there's a blanket put between my ears and the headphone, don't like that a bit anymore now that I have something else to compare with which apparently...

    Amp recommendations for Audeze LCD-2

Why did you not like it? Soloist should sound the same I'd guess, the company is the same and probably also the ears tuning the amp. More power, but if you don't push the HA160, would you notice? I don't listen louder then at 9 o'clock on normal records. Should be plenty of head-room left...

    Amp recommendations for Audeze LCD-2

Is it that good? I'm using a burson HA160 at the moment and people on here seems to think it's not good enough for the 2.2s. But I'm not listening that loud, would a mjolnir really improve things? What is improved? Normally when I here "underpowered" that means that a better more powerful amp...

Not the hd800, the hd650. IIRC the 800 has way too much treble for me. But my memory is not that good

The Audeze LCD-2 Ortho thread (New)

Only ment that the upper range is more pronounced compared with the senns. And that initially they seemed to be a bit lacking lows but too much highs which sertainly has changed. I could listen to more music with the senns, the LCDs don't hide the issues with compressed music of today. With the...

The Audeze LCD-2 Ortho thread (New)

Got my hands on a set of used LCD2 rev2 a couple of weeks ago. Been watching and longing at those headphones for at least a year. Meanwhile I've listened to a pair of sennheiser 650HD, they are by no means a bad headphone.   First impression when putting the LCDs on was that they really aren't...

Burson D160, distortion with high signal level USB

When using USB input of the burson D160 it is severly distoring on higher signal levels if pausing music and then starting again. This can be fixed by changing input of the DAC with music playing thus to me this seems to be a case of missaligned clock somehow wich introduces loads of distortion...

Burson HA-160 returned from 2month repair....

My 1-year old Burson headphone amp just returned from getting a new volume control. What a difference it is to turn it up and down without all that crackle and sparkle in the phones. One odd thing is that it i not as loud though. It's still loud enough but it is strange. And it's nice to listen...

Help decide audeze LCD2 or LCD3

Quote:   The little dot was only to be used until I had the possibillity to exchange it for something nicer.   However, I bought a burson DAC and the HA160 headphone amp. Also got myself a Sennheiser HD650 until I can get a set of LCD3. This setup made me wonder how the h*** I could...

replaced the tara-labs prism 3300i with a taralabs X11 interconnect and the phones seems quieter and smoother. Odd, since I really do not believe in cables affecting things as long as copper is replaced with copper....  Please do say I'm imagining things....

    Audeze LCD2, rev1 vs Senn HD650 question.

I recently bought the senn HD650 as a phone to sit comfortably with until I can get my hands on a nice set of LCD3. However, I just found a LCD2 rev 1 for a reasonable price.   Some prefere one some the other and I can't say I got a clear picture of what the differences are. What I would...

What does original master really mean though? Because there are very few of my records that does not distort at least to some extent, some all the time, others only in sertain passages. Is this done in the mixing, and the master is allways " clean"? Noticed that the more distortion, the...

Was only trying to say I hate that all record manufactures seems to be too occupied with loudness-war rather then producing well mastered records without distortion. Should perhaps been more clear that I wasn't really aiming on the phones themselfes, but they are good enough to show this very...

well, there must be something wrong my new headphones. Every CD I play distorts more or less.   Why even bother trying to get nice sound using high-end-ish DAC, Amplifier and good headphones when the only records you have has a dynamic range of 5dB and distors as soon as the singer tries to...

Quote:   See post #3 above. But thats with 0.5-1 hour use of the phones. Remember that it might not be "hot" as in for normal people, but since I could not listen for more then perhaps one hour with the grados due to the treble response, I am focusing on this area way too much listening...

Quote:   Which is why I waited until today so I can use my Burson HA-160 with the Burson D-160 DAC as a source to see how they really perform, hope I'm not underpowering the headphones either from quality or power point of view?   I will not upgrade that amp in the near future, but...

Just bought myself a new pair of sennheiser 650hd phones. Simply can not bear the idea of having to listen to the grados for one more day! Funny behaviour of Burson HA160?

Using my Grado sr80 with the headamp in the high output I cant use more then first notch, otherwise its too loud. Theres also à clear supply-hum. In the low output its fine. Figured it was à gain high/low. But then I used s set of sennheiser HD580, and with those there was hardly and difference...

    Hifiman HE-500 versus Sennheiser HD650

just bought a set with burson HA-160 and burson D-160 DAC. Sort of hoping to be able to persuade my missus to get a set of LCD3, but that is not that likely and I can't think of listening to the grados again, therefor need to find a replacement sooner rather then later.   Since I hate the...

    Hifiman HE-500 versus Sennheiser HD650

quote: I've heard the HD650 with a Sennheiser cable -- have it burning in right now. The musicality and expressive dynamics are good. Quite good. It has greater extension on top than the LCD2. It's missing the bottom octave compared to the LCD2. It's transients are rougher and muddier than the...
