I recently bought the senn HD650 as a phone to sit comfortably with until I can get my hands on a nice set of LCD3. However, I just found a LCD2 rev 1 for a reasonable price.

Some prefere one some the other and I can't say I got a clear picture of what the differences are. What I would like to improve on the Senns are better low extention, same punch in the mids and more timbre in the highs, I feel that they do not let for instance a piano decay as they should but dampens the tone too quick (this could also be the record......), to me they do not sound clear in that respect.
Would the audeze be a nice upgrade in that case? And also, would the audeze also mean more problem with lousy loudness-records?

The bass is definitely much better defined, mids are going to be the same (emphasis)... But expect something very similar to HD650, the same "warm" sound with rather "creamy" highs as people states here.

One thing that makes LCD-2 a definite no-go for me - pretty low level of comfort. According to many people here, they are too heavy and overally uncomfortable for long listening sessions... HD650 are WAY MORE comfortable.
