Need feedback on Bluetooth adapter design

Aha, very nice, but not exactly portable... Anyone have any input on the questions I posted? :D So far the PCB is looking pretty good. Hopefully I can get to testing an amplifier configuration soon.

Need feedback on Bluetooth adapter design

That's an interesting find. The main problem is the codec it uses--given that it doesn't list anything like AptX or AAC, it almost certainly uses the standard Sub-Band-Coding codec, which is the main problem with Bluetooth audio products. Also, I shudder to think of the amp that lies inside T_T...

Need feedback on Bluetooth adapter design

Bump, if I can get any feedback! Also, is 11~12 hours of listening time enough?

Need feedback on Bluetooth adapter design

Hi Everyone,   I'm currently working on putting together a module that would allow you to stream audio over Bluetooth to any set of headphones from 32 to 600 ohms impedance. I couldn't find anything that was relatively cheap, with good audio quality, that worked over a standard Bluetooth...

    Non-audiophile reactions to high-end headphones

Doesn't get much better than this. Reaction to my unmodified (soon to change) Fostex T50Rps: "I don't even hear life this way. Way to go, now you've ruined life for me."

Headphone <$100 that doesn't need amp

You might want to take a look at the Fostex T50RPs (along with the accompanying thread here on Head-Fi). I can't say from personal experience yet--mine are still one their way from Utah--but with some relatively cheap mods they're supposed to be pretty fantastic.   T50RP Mods...

Just listened to some Fostex T50RPs today... WOW!

Hi guys, I was just wondering if anyone has experience using Beyerdynamic DT990 pads for these? It's down to the Shure 840 pads, the pleather Beyer pads, and the velour Beyer pads. What would you guys recommend? They're all within about ten dollars of each other, price isn't really an issue...

Fostex T50RP Incremental Mods and Measurements

Wow, this is incredible! Thank you so much for keeping you process open and contributing such a wealth of data to the modding community! I just bought my set of T50rps, and I'm excited to get cracking on them. Although I realize that FR charts aren't everything, I'm really impressed by how close...

Just listened to some Fostex T50RPs today... WOW!

Quote:     Yes, exactly, but you can't hear sound leaking out of the cups since it's leaking out and getting absorbed by the room. since headphones are designed for personal listening, very little of the sound is going to reflect and get back into your ears.   Quote:   That...

Just listened to some Fostex T50RPs today... WOW!

Quote:     But your brain doesn't know what's leaking out of the cups unless it's reflected back, and unless you're wearing grados and sitting inside a narrow hallway, you're not going to be getting much of anything making it back to your ears to give you SS cues. Like I said, if the...

Just listened to some Fostex T50RPs today... WOW!

Quote: Aww, well, we knew you'd be back ;) Yah, that's pretty much the case. Closed cans will really only effect the back pressure on the driver and the amount of reflection. The key is to get your headphones to reproduce the recording exactly how it was mastered (hence all the damping...

Just listened to some Fostex T50RPs today... WOW!

Quote:     Sound escaping from the cups completely is equivalent to perfect damping in the cups. Now if you mean sound getting into the cups, giving you sound cues from outside, that obviously comes with the tradeoff of, well, being able to hear those sounds, i.e. poor isolation.  ...

This is awesome! I was wondering why no one was covering the plasticine with Paxmate; I was going to give that a go on top of the RP1 mods when I got my pair. Glad to hear it works! Awed, I am, mrspeakers, you've done something truly fine here. :D

Looking for New Headphones - 75$

Have you taken a look at the Fostex T50RP thread? Those are going for $75 dollars, and are apparently excellent quality if you're cool with modding them (that might take the cost up a little, though). When modded, they've gotten favorable comparisons to HD650s, and even LCD-2s. Just a thought :)

Yes! Can't wait to hear about your results! It's great that someone's willing to put in such monumental effort to share his creations. Massively looking forward to the RP2s.   Quote:

@BMF and Mrspeakers, Are you guys going to get FR graphs done for your 'phones? It'd be lovely to see how your mods look vs Smeggy's, LFF'sm, and Kneel Jung's (they're the only ones with FR graphs for their  modded T50RPs as far as I know). It's pretty impressive how close smeggy's looks to...

Haha, that's a very creative idea--wooden baffles... Has anyone tried using acoustic foam wall covering, or is that too large to fit in the cups?

Well, LFF, I certainly wouldn't mind a tutorial from you after the InnerFidelity competition is over, but I certainly understand if you'd like to keep it a trade secret. Not everyone is annoyed at your success ;)   Edit: to keep it on topic, does anyone have suggestions about what type of...

Just listened to some Fostex T50RPs today... WOW!

Now I'm drooling at the T50RPs. I'm a broke student, so I've never been able to afford "real" HPs. I've only just started getting into headphones with a pair of Samson SR850/Superlux HD668B OEMs, but now I find myself yearning for more! :D Just hearing that these $75 dollar headphones can...

++ FULL-SIZE HEADPHONE RECOMMENDATIONS THREAD++ CLOSED: Please post a thread in the Introductions, Help and Advice forum

I own the SR850s which are 668B clones, and I gotta tell you, they sound great but they're not exactly quiet. Not library material. If you went Superlux, the HD661s might be available sometime soonish, and they're closed, and sound quite good from what I hear.

Open Back and/or BIg Headphones: Why the shame?!?

Quote: I'd recommend the Superlux HD668Bs. They're on the low end of your price range, flat, and sound great. They also have quite a few reviews:   http://www.headfonia.com/superlux-hd668b/   Edit: I've also heard that the HD660's are excellent and very musical, too, but I can't say...

    Superlux HD661

Hey guys, I currently own a pair of Samson SR850s (OEM HD668B) and I love them. However, they're open so I can't use them in noisy environments, and they cable isn't very durable. I heard about the new Superlux HD661s from the rockgrotto forums, and they sounded like they solved both...
