IEM Options for $150 and below

I'm currently seriously considering the Audeo Phonak PFE, I like the fact that so many people are recommending it. I like the fact that you have the filters, and they give replacements. The price seems good. |joker|'s thread had a very good review, and now that the build quality issue is fixed...

Yes I realize there are many different threads like this, but I have somewhat different 'requirements'. First off, source: Zune hd 32 No amp, (this also means I don't want headphones that require an amp, I'm not looking to buy one) I live in the US. My music tastes: Linkin park...

FLAC quality question + player that supports FLAC options?

To start, I have a Zune HD 32, Audio Technica ATH-M50's (that have been burned in), and no amp (don't plan on buying one anytime soon) First question, which may be a dumb one, but I'm clueless with this topic. Are FLAC files actually that much better than MP3? Next question, I've heard...

Thanks everyone for your inputs. I decided to go with the Audio Technica ATH-M50's for $134.95. No amp. Side note- Got the 32g Zune hd, and I love it, but can't wait to hear it with the new headphones.

There have been a lot of votes for the Audio-Technica ATH-M50 also, it might be good to add that no, I decided not to buy an amp, so my headphone choice should be good for portable, no-amp whatsoever, listening. I looked at the Sony MDR-XB700, and they said the cord design was "silly"...

Apparently, Sarjo Group, the group i was looking at that had the price of $150 on amazon, well, they aren't authorized to sell anything from either Shure audio OR Monster Audio, and neither group is quite sure how Sarjo got their equipment. However, the reply email also stated that the best...

The site selling the Bithead amp for $99 requires you buy a set of headphones from them so you get the 60 dollars off, otherwise it would be about $160 for the amp alone. The SRH 840 is sold there for about $200. At other places it is sold for about $150. Now, the AH-D1001S is sold for...
