    Apple Music HiFi

Connect from iphone 11 -> lightning USB cable to Fiio k5pro -> sennheiser HD660S. Can not easily toggle back and forth btw lossless and mp3. So observations are very subjective. I have noticed improvement in string instrument in particular. Female singing voice is not a huge difference...

Audio-Technica ATH-DSR9BT/ATH-DSR7BT Bluetooth Headphones (With Digital Drive Technology That Replaces a Traditional DAC)

Tried the headphone over Thanksgiving weekend. Volume issue was resolved. Can get reasonable volume by increasing the volume on the headphone side and adjust iPhone volume. Sound quality continues to improve. Would say that 7Bt on-par with Sennheiser Momentum Overear wired version...

Audio-Technica ATH-DSR9BT/ATH-DSR7BT Bluetooth Headphones (With Digital Drive Technology That Replaces a Traditional DAC)

Thanks. I will try it again tonight. I thought 7BT's headphone volume control is actually the same as the iPhone volume control. So I was only varying the headphone volume control. Did not bother with headphone's volume control. That was my experience with Jaybird bluetooth sports...

Audio-Technica ATH-DSR9BT/ATH-DSR7BT Bluetooth Headphones (With Digital Drive Technology That Replaces a Traditional DAC)

Bought it from Best Buy Sunday at sale price. Tried it out last night. Connected with my iPhone 7+. Shows the connection is AAC per manual. Very clear but not harsh sounding upper range. Nuetral mid-range. Slightly light bass so far. Will need more time to break in. Couple of things...

Audio-Technica ATH-DSR9BT/ATH-DSR7BT Bluetooth Headphones (With Digital Drive Technology That Replaces a Traditional DAC)

Also, amount of resolution loss for bluetooth vary significantly on protocol used. Bit rate all changes according to aptX HD, aptX, AAC, SBC. So the same headphones will behave different depends on which phone or computer OS pairing. For example, iphone will choose AAC while MacOS can choose...

Audio-Technica ATH-DSR9BT/ATH-DSR7BT Bluetooth Headphones (With Digital Drive Technology That Replaces a Traditional DAC)

Bluetooth is always lossy. USB direct connection is not. So if the source material is at minimal 16/44.1. Bluetooth will always has some resolution loss. Whether or not it's audible, that's debatable. IMO lossy vs lossless is audible for high resolution headphones.

The Little Dot Mk IV / SE Impressions Thread

LD IV SE definitely have much more drive than my other tube headphone amp.     I still have an older Mapletree.  My last headphone AKG Q701 was a good paring with Mapletree.  I think Sennhesier HD650 matches better with LD IV SE.     Probably tube roll with what I have now for 4-6 weeks and...

The Little Dot Mk IV / SE Impressions Thread

Just picked an used mk IV SE. Very good pairing w hd650. Selected gain setting of 5db. Vol control is now at 10-11 o'clock for my lessening vol. is this about what I should expect? The menu suggested 10db setting but I think that is a bit too much gain. Recv 3 sets of driver tubes plus original...

    EMU 0404 and 0202 Compared

Anyone used 0404 or 0202 w/ Itune on a XP computer. Thinking about getting one for work to pair with DT770 80ohms version. Currently powering the headphone with laptop docking station's headphone output. Would an external E-MU USB sound card be a good upgrade solution? Portability is not an...

    Buying Sennheiser HD650 from Amazon?

Just checked JR.com. $330 + shipping. Sounds like Amazon's seller is the way to go. Thanks for everyone's feedback. BTW, I have been using Audiogon for a 6+ yrs and I am used to seeing 40-60% discount for used audio gears, but this does not apply to most headphones stuff. Is the difference...

    Buying Sennheiser HD650 from Amazon?

Has anyone purchased their HD650 from a seller sarjo_distributions on Amazon? 96% positive feedback from 992 sounds legit. New HD650 is listed for $310 + $6.50 shipping. It's almost as cheap as most used one on for sale forum here. Wanna find out if anyone has any issue with this seller?

Where to buy Koss KSC-75 in San Jose, CA

That's weird. I probably should call the Best Buy around town to see if any other store might have them. They can probably get them too. Thanks for the offer though.

Bought Senn HD555 , not having a great time.

I also have a HD555 as well. I think the break-in does help but adding a decent amp also help as well. Not sure about your sound card's performance, but adding a simple headphone amp and connect it to a true-line level source can give you a better idea of the HD555's performance level. I...

Where to buy Koss KSC-75 in San Jose, CA

I did buy my first pair online. I was thinking about buying another pair to use elsewhere. I am just surprised by how bad KOSS is at getting their best bang for buck headphone into the retail channels. It's easily one of the best bargain in headphones. Many I should write an email to KOSS...

Am I the only person still enjoying the PPA??

As a new owner of a RockerHopper PPA with diamond buffer and OPA627. I must say it's great that it is fallen out of favorite because I got it a for a great price. :-) Anyway, currently have a Elpac power supply. Does step power supply add a huge amount to the sound? Or is it a better solution...

    Gilmore Lite or PPA

Got a PPA with Diamond buffer and OPA627 build by Rockhopper. Currently still burning it in. Headphone is Senn HD555. Very good tonal balance from top to bottom. Might consider getting a headphone upgrade later. Listen to mostly 60's Jazz/Jazz vocal/Classic rock/Classical. The burn-in...
