I have bought 2 pairs of M50's off ebay for under $100.  It was several months back.  No issues.  I believe they are 100% authentic, but I did not know there were fake M50's out there?

I did not hate the 800's, but they were too bright for me.  At moderate volumes the sound was fatiging.  I agree with the others on the LCD-2's.  I really think the op will like there sound......

Just a bit frustrating.  I received scratched cups in shipping on my first pair.  They sent me a new pair right away.  Awesome service.  I have NO issues with Audeze.  It is just a bit frustrating.  There is NO excuse for Sennheiser.....they should be able to able to produce  a much superior...

I have the HD800 hooked up to my HDP playing Apple lossless files.  I rave really appreciated the strengths of these headphones.  Like many of us out here find the bass to be a bit light for some music.  Lately listening to some Rage Against the Machine - the light bass has been more frustrating...

They sound great to me.  The bottom section's are actually a subwoofer with an outboard crossover.

I love headphones, but nothing competes with a quality full range speaker, for me.  I really like to rock out.  I have preferred all of my $2000 mspr plus speakers to all the headphones I have.  Of course headphones are great for the fine details in music.  My current speakers are the RBH T2's.

My 2 month ownership experience with D2000's were great bass, but terrible terrible midrange.  Very recessed and thin.  The only quality headphones I have ever hated.  However this was out of a Denon receiver.
