Westone UM3X vs. Earsonics SM3
bought a sm3 to stand in for my um3x while I'm sending it back for repairs. Coming to the sm3 from the um3x, first impressions: vocals(mids) were distant on the sm3 as compared to the um3x bigger "soundstage", "airier", because the overall presentation is more distant as compared...- windrider

Westone UM3X Thread
Got a pair of um3x from gregeas and they arrived today. Loving them to bits - I prefer their sound signature to the westone 3 by a long way. "Son of a preacher man" was the first song i played on them when i got them today, and i was totally blown away. I heard new details which i...- windrider

The Sennheiser HD 800: The First Listen, The First Review
what a great past few months for headphones/iems it has been. IE8, westone 3, and now... HD800. I almost couldnt believe my eyes when i saw this post. I thought IE8/westone 3 was pretty exciting but this is on a totally different level. We might just be witnessing history here...- windrider

I'm starting it here... Sennheiser IE8 vs. Westone 3
just had a long audition with the ie8 at sennheiser japan's showroom in tokyo. i found them very impressive indeed, best i have heard so far except for the westone 3. the larger foam tips fit my ears best, however one of them was missing, so i cant say it was the perfect environment. I did...- windrider

Westone 3 Impressions Thread
Have been using these for a few days now. The mids are drier/more recessed than i first remembered them to be when i auditioned them, that was kinda disappointing to me. This is probably because my audition session was short (there was a queue so there was a short time limit per person) and i...- windrider

iPod 7G: 120gb only
first thing i did after the announcement was to get a refurb 160gb. Kinda sad that the price dropped further in just one week and i kinda lost US$30 cos i bought it one week earlier. Bringing my whole library around is important to me... its also a great way to show other people what music...- windrider
