New Questyle CMA400i
I have a Chord Dave being fed by the M-Scaler in my main system. Unfortunately, it is about 4m from my desk, so I can't use headphones from the Dave without an extension cord, which I don't really like. Also, it is difficult to control volume on the Dave from my desk as there are blockages so I...- markm1111

New Questyle CMA400i
I am hoping this thread isn't completely dead, as I am coming to the CMA-400i quite late it seems. I have two questions: 1. Now that the initial hype is over, are owners happy with their purchase? Is it still as good as was first thought? I understand the issues with after sales service, but...- markm1111

The Leben CS300XS Thread
Well, I have joined the Leben CS-300XS club after several years of just lusting after one. The amp I bought also came with a full complement of Mullard NOS tubes, so it will hopefully be pretty close to the original 300X. I love the look and feel of the amp before I even turn it on! To...- markm1111

Review: Portable amp roundup! 56 portable amps reviewed and compared - FINAL update 12-20-10 added RSA SR-71B
I knew I could rely on Skylab. He was my guide when looking for a tube amp (ended up with a Decware CSP-2+), and now he is my guide on portable amps. Thanks for putting in such a great effort!- markm1111

Amp for Denon D7000, SS amp or tube amp is better for D7000?
I am so glad I stumbled across this thread. I had been thinking of buying a Woo WA6 to use with my D7000's and W5000's, as I had always understood that low impedance phones don't work well with OTL tube amps. I have the CSP2+, and will now be cranking it up with the D7000's to try it out. What...- markm1111

New Woo Audio 6 w/ PDPS vs Woo Audio 6 SE?
I am very interested in your comments re the WA6 driving the Denons. I am considering a WA6 to drive my low impedance phones (W5000, D7000, K702) as I already have a Decware CSP-2+ for my high impedance ones. It concerns me a little that you think the amp was underpowered for Denons - I...- markm1111

AT-W5000 and AH-D7000 stock cable opinions? Worth replacing?
Hi I have bought a second hand pair of W5000's, and hope to get a pair of D7000's in the near future. I have read good things about the stock D7000 cable, but couldn't find much commentary on the W5000 cable. How good are the stock cables and connectors on these two phones? How much...- markm1111

Violectric HPA V200 Why not sufficiently appreciated??
I had an early version of the Burson amp, but it had soime issues so it went back. They sorted the issues in later amps. My audio memory may not be the greatest, but I much prefer the V200 over the Burons - the extras on the V200 also tip the balance as well- markm1111

REVIEW: Decware Select Zen CSP2 Tube Headphone Amp
I use my CSP-2+ as a pre amp as well, driving the power amp section of a Burson PI-160 integrated. I really love this versatility as I can get a taste of the tube sopund in both headphones and speakers.- markm1111

Violectric HPA V200 Why not sufficiently appreciated??
Quote: I bought mine with the dac thrown in. I am actually considering removing it, just in case it has any adverse impact on any electrical signals. AT the time of purchasing I asked if I could buy without the dac and hget a price reduction - didn't happen, obviously already assembled- markm1111

Lake People V181: a new balanced amp <$1000
Quote: Yep, same here. Your analysis of the V181 is similar to mine on the V200. As far as bass is concerned, it really brought out the bottom end in my K702's, making them sound much more well rounded - I was very happy indeed- markm1111

Violectric HPA V200 Why not sufficiently appreciated??
XLR for me as well, from my Transporter into V200, I have moved the jumpers to make RCA a unity gain output to an integrated amp. I haven't touched the pre-gain switches yet, but will probably also adjust so that 12 is normal listening level- markm1111
