Do you Pre EQ your mp3s?

There you go: http://www.head-fi.org/forums/f4/dea...e-test-260013/ Being modest is so vain... never mind being over-modest.

AKG 701's or HD600/650's for use with Dolby Headphone processing?

Best headphones for use with Dolby Headphone?

The positioning feels restricted in its range with the HD25s but more precise and realistic anyway than with cheap Grados. The echo-y, bassy, and closed-in sound of the HD25s helps me hear the little space that's there. The openness of the Grados feels more natural, yes, but less realistic at...

Do you Pre EQ your mp3s?

I don't because I'm lazy and I have too many headphones. ;-) If you're going to be posting here, you'll have to live with the snobs. There's a head-fi member who made an EQ specifically for the PortaPro and Dolby Headphone... a chain of effects to apply to music and to put on a player. It's...

Of those, I'd pick an HD5x5 even though I'm not a fan. The K701 and HD6x0 have these largish chambers which mess the positioning in a way that's supposed to enhance stereo recordings, not binaural. Beyers or K2xxs would be better but any good 'phone with smallish and straightforward chambers...

    How many backups is enough?

I'm disturbed by the amount of posters claiming that one backup is enough. It's a lot better than nothing but it's not safe. That's a pitfall of HD backups which needs to be adressed if you care about your data. RAID is not a backup obviously but, for the same reason, a single HD or array...
