Modding the Sennheiser pc350 headset
There are 2 screws under the foam tape you see over the top of the connector. They are located close to each other on the right side of the connector. Make sure you get both, and don't put any pressure on the connector itself as you remove the earpiece.- bludragon

Modding the Sennheiser pc350 headset
Wow, just tried this on my PC350. Amazing what an effect a small hole has... Using some HD650s as reference so it's not just in my mind. The PC350 started out sounding very anemic and bass light, but crisp and clear. Now they are more bass heavy than the HD650s. A touch too much actually as...- bludragon

iBasso D42 "Mamba" with dual dacs! !! Hey Hey! Improved Starting on Page 76 .
Any comment from iBasso on the clipping / gain issue described earlier in this thread? It seems like this could be fixed fairly easily in any new production.- bludragon

Head-Fi and HDtracks (David Chesky) Collaborate to Assemble A Headphone System Test Album!
I use foobar to convert. Right click a track, or set of tracks and hit convert... Use the resampler in the DSP and set the output format to 16 bit with dithering. You can output wave, mp3 or whatever other format you like.- bludragon

Westone UM3X Thread
Well I finally got mine, despite some confusion over my street address. Out of the box impressions is that the perceived build quality is not quite as good as my shure e4c's. The cable is very good in terms of microphonics and comfort, but I'm slightly paranoid about it forming a kink where...- bludragon

My final thoughts on an IEM to buy
I don't play drums, but I do love to listen to them, and I have to say that if you really want to be able to pick them out, then you really want something with a fast, tight (undistorted) bass and mid. This might give you the impression that there is not so much bass compared to something with...- bludragon

Westone UM3X Thread
Well I pulled the trigger yesterday afternoon with road dog via ebay as they seemed to have a decent price. I did find one other place that was cheaper, but no reviews of the site anywhere, or mention of whether or not it was an official dealer. Still waiting for my shipping notification... I...- bludragon

What do you use to rip your CD's?
EAC. To up the speed of ripping, grab the latest version. If secure mode is too slow, try using burst mode with accurate rip configured. Any disc with an accurate rip entry, you only need to use secure mode if a track does not match. Discs without accurate rip entries, you can use test© and...- bludragon

ARGH!!! What to buy??!!
If you're concerned about SQ, then you should consider getting a zune, and using high bit rate aac/mp4 or wma, or even mp3. The user interface is also very nice. If you're less concerned about that, then get the toshiba, and there might not even be any significant difference in SQ.- bludragon

What is the Best Portable Source?
I'm quite impressed with my zune, however, I realised I should have maybe got an ipod when I started looking at car stereo's. I would now suggest the following: For use anywhere: Zune with 192k wma For use in an office: usb dac / headphone amp with foobar + flac files For use at home...- bludragon

Digital Audio Players based purely on SQ
FYI, you do not want anything to reproduce a square wave into your headphones. The flat top of the square wave is effectively DC, which should be filtered out by the player, as it can burn out speakers. You don't see the proper effect of this filter without a load, which is why the images look...- bludragon
