Sony MDR MA900 Impressions Thread
I am probably in the minority, but I found the hd598s uncomfortable and find the k701s comfortable. Probably due to my somewhat largish ears. I did cut off the bumps on the k701s though. I also agree that the bass mod is worth it.- arecibo

I agree with KT, I found the HD598 lacking and enjoy my K701s much more. As for the headband of the Q701, if it is because the cups don't extend enough, there are some mods that can be done to improve the comfort, just send me a PM if you are interested.- arecibo

Sony MDR MA900 Impressions Thread
I just picked up a pair from Mad Lust Envy from the forum and have been finding the headphones to be uncomfortable (which is unfortunate because I was hoping to find them super comfortable). Despite their lightness, I can't seem to find a good setting for the length of the arms so that my ears...- arecibo

K701 thread
I got mine for 100 off of craigslist which I thought was a great deal, so good that I thought it might be stolen. They seem to go for around 140-180 on the used forums here, so I would say you got them for a great price.- arecibo

K701 thread
I find that after the following bass mod, that the k701s sound great to my ears and don't *need* EQ. Really happy except for the comfort so far. http://www.head-fi.org/t/660408/reversible-akg-k701-bass-mod- arecibo

Sony MDR MA900 Impressions Thread
In terms of comfort for the MA900s, I was wondering if anybody with big ears has any issues with it? I actually found the DT880s uncomfortable since the pads rested on my ears. The A900x's were a little better and now I've got an HD598 which fits better (due to the oval cups). At any...- arecibo

I've found the ear cups to be a bit small for my ears. The tops and bottoms of my ears touch the edges of the pads and that makes them a bit uncomfortable for me. I'm still not sure if this is a deal breaker or not for me.- arecibo

Replacment ear pads for ATH A900x?
Just wanted to add to this thread that I was able to get FA-003/HM5/Jaycar pads onto the A900x (posted this already in the A900x appreciation thread). They are a big improvement in comfort, still trying to figure out the changes in sound.- arecibo

Audio-Technica ATH-A900X: Impressions, Reviews, Mods, etc.
Ok, so since I had read that some people have put FA-003/HM5/Jaycar pads on HE-400's I decided to try to put my spare Jaycar pads on the A900x's. It took some effort as it is a super tight fit, but they can be put on. They are definitely much more comfortable given the extra padding, but I'm...- arecibo

Audio-Technica ATH-A900X: Impressions, Reviews, Mods, etc.
Since we are discussing pads, I'm also looking to replace my a900x pads. I've heard people replacing DT880 pads with HE-500 velour pads and since people have said you can use DT880 pads on a900x's, does anybody know if the transitive property holds and HE velours can be used on a900x's? HE...- arecibo
