Thanks, will probably go with cowhide. The ones I'm replacing are lambskin.

I also really enjoyed the sound of the cowhides in comparison to the lambskin, really seemed to open everything up and everything sounded more focused, but YMMV.

Vibro:  Protein or Lambskin
 
Blackwood:  Cowhide with Lambskin a close second
 
Omni:  Omni pads or Cowhide/Lambskin

Those purpleheart Vibros look pretty slick. I had the zebrawood Vibros and really liked them.

I sold my Vibros because I didn't need a closed back at the time. A couple months later I bought the Blackwoods as I missed the ZMF sound. Will probably be putting my Blackwoods up for sale this weekend for the same reason.

I'll likely get an Omni in a couple months if history repeats itself.
