Or you want to try your luck on those stabilized VC in the next few days? they looked absolutely gorgeous....I'm thinking of getting those for my wife as a gift.
If she doesn't like them, I have a backup plan.

Believe me...I'll be looking over those. Can't wait to see what they put out. But right now, the olive look is my favorite of everything I've seen (including my desert ironwood). That's exactly how I feel about the Desert Ironwood. I was going to wait for the 3rd stabilized release, but decided the elegant & ancient Desert Ironwood owns my heart.Believe me...I'll be looking over those. Can't wait to see what they put out. Those grills look fantastic with the Ironwood.

Looks more like the silkwood to me. Is that really ironwood?
Are you referring to mine? Yes, desert ironwood. That picture is in direct sunlight, so they look a little bit lighter than they do in standard indoor lighting.Looks more like the silkwood to me. Is that really ironwood?

ironwood clearly has richer texture, need to zoom in from the photo above though haha
I'm really loving my VO Ironwoods. I really appreciated the Aeolus, but my ears just couldn't get along with the upper mids having so much reverb. These VO's are gelin' with my ears much better. Honestly, I think they are also a great compliment to my existing Z1R's as well (which is why I don't feel the need to go VC, tho that Olive is just beautiful).
Also, the VO is superb with the BH Crackatwoa.
Thanks again, Zach & team, for such a great experience. Now the real question is... How do you top this..?

Really interested to hear your impressions!Just got a notification from ZMF...My Desert Ironwood VO has been shipped and is on its way.
will gladly post some early impressions tomorrow after they arrive. I will mainly use it with my Elise OTL and GSX-mini. Been listening to the VC for the last few weeks and I cant wait to find out how these two are similar and differ. Which pads are you using with your VO?Really interested to hear your impressions!
I'm not a huge fan of the stock pads, tbh. The BE2 lambskin was a big step up for me, and the Universe Hybrid is my all around favorite.Which pads are you using with your VO?
It seems to retain the Verites character, but tames the "peaks" a bit more (or at least that's what it seems to me). I'm a bit more sensitive to higher frequencies and sibilance, so this may also be why I really like the U Hybrids. It doesn't dull down the Verite, it just seems to be a bit more relaxed, and provides some air and a bit more soundstage.
If you own the Universe pads, I'd definitely recommend giving them a try. If not, then BE2 pads are real close. Some may even prefer the BE2 for a tiny bit more neutral presentation.

Sound profile will change after 150 - 200 hours of burning in... you will experience another level of tightness and dynamicsI'm really loving my VO Ironwoods. VOs and Z1Rs are my choice too, great complement. Z1Rs for big orchestral, VOs for most else!I'm really loving my VO Ironwoods. Z1R's just crush almost everything else I've heard with Electronica as well.VOs and Z1Rs are my choice too, great complement. Z1Rs for big orchestral, VOs for most else!
VO is amazing with just about everything that has to do with real instruments. The timbre just seems to replicate everything with a high degree of accuracy -- to my ears anyways. I know they're not absolutely neutral, but they still sound accurate, and are a pair you can listen with for hours without fatigue, and still have a pretty solid feast on details and texture.
Ironwood Verite. Delivered this morning. Spent most of the day staring at it....
