I’ve thought about doing the same thing. But too many projects already lined up. If you try your hand at the mod game make sure to post results.

I've never heard the Argon, but that is sort of like the mods that Zach used to do with those headphones, right?

He's got the stock model on sale right now on ZMFs website and I've thought about buying a pair to try my hand at some modding:

Seems like a crazy good deal...
Yup! Modhouse does a great job and doesn't charge enough for their work, tbh. Lol.

I'd love to own a classic ZMF like an Ori to compare, tho, you can find some comparisons already online.

The T50rp is actually a very capable driver and scales well

There are 3 headphones I simply can't imagine selling for any reason:
  • ZMF Aeolus (blackwood)
  • ZMF Verite Open (silkwood)
  • ZMF Ori (ormosia henryi)
3 different but equally entertaining examples of the ZMF "house sound" (which honestly just means "musical as all screw).

If you want to own 2 hps which hp1 would compliment well with Verite?

Zmf or orher
wow..... what a can of worm you've opened..... depending on genres of music you listen to.... for me it's either:
1. VO as my highend HP then I'll get Rad-0
2. VO as my all round HP then I'll get Susvara or Estat like DC Voce
different driver, different sound profile....

How does the Rad-0 compare? It's very interesting, but I've heard that there's a bit of a premium on them (compared to their level of performance). I've not heard them yet.

Resolve @ Headphones.com on YT done a good review on the Rad-0

VO has better stage and musicality. Rad-O is so uncomfortable that I had to get rid of them. They have a clean sound with very nice tight bass. Verite is the better all around headphone if you ask me. Verite matched very well with the amps I throw at it. Rad-0 was a disappointment on my PrimaLuna. Rad-O was sensational on my IFI Pro ICAN. I didn’t like any other headphone on the ICAN. Ultimately, I sold the Rad-0 because of comfort and sold the ICAN because I no longer had the Rad-0.

I just got a Hifiman HE1000SE and I can say that It is fantastic. Great compliment to my stable.

As a counter point, the Rad-0 sound great on my WA33. The HE1000se I find a little hot in the upper treble. It can get strident at times. Of course taste and sensitivity to treble come into play. The Rad-0 are pretty neutral sounding with as was said tight bass. I did not find them uncomfortable. Of course I don’t find the LCD4 uncomfortable either so figure that into my assessment.

I would be surprised if something didn’t sound great on your WA33 :beerchug:. I hope it didnt come across that I disliked the Rad-0. Contrary I loved it so much I hired a artist to customize the grills. The weight wasnt a issue. The clamp was too much For me.

I agree they do have a somewhat firm clamp. The HE1000se is a very comfortable headphone. If comfort and weight are a priority then Hifiman should definitely be on your list for consideration.

Sorry if this has been answered above. When searching for "pads" there are so many results returned.

The ZMF website says that the headphone comes with the "ZMF Universe Perforated Pads". Are these the Suede, Lambskin, or Hybrid perforated universe pads? The ordering screen does not allow a selection on this item, only on the (2nd) choice set.

Comes with Universe Lambskin, no suede. I ordered the universe lambskin pads for the second set. They aren't different enough and I regret that.

I would recommend ordering the BE2 or Verite for the 2nd set.

Edit: I ordered the universe suede for the 2nd set.

Well, looking at your picture, it's hard to imagine anything feeling uncomfortable on your head....
