Ok guys you have me convinced. Hopefully they don’t suck. :anguished: :fingers_crossed: Just put down money for a pair at a great price.... basic silk wood though.

Question difference between the look of oxidized Silkwood and not oxidized?
At this price most headphones won't suck its just about personal preference but i totally understand your point... as if i went blindly and got an Empyrean from all those insane reviews, I'd be bummed out for the sound signature ain't changing my world compared to its price tag..... so to speak

I think you called TSAV at the right time? They had great deal on ZMF headphones today.
Yes they had a crazy deal. I have not even seen used Verite going for that price. I supposedly got the last pair in the store. I haven't even seen them let alone heard them yet. This why I am asking a dumb question like the difference between the regular silkwood and oxidized silkwood, or are all the silkwood oxidized?

Now the Empy's I have heard and love them, but noooooo I had to go buy one of the few top HP's I have not yet heard. I am trying to get on the Empy loaner program, so I can have the Empy's, HEK SE and the Verite here at the same time.

I saw that they had a couple of crazy good deals. I just ordered a pair of Verite Cocobolo's though. I kinda want to pick up a pair of Eikon's though...

you're awesome, tysm I really appreciate it :) I really like the tonality of the US pads but found the stage a bit lacking in depth? I read that AS pads give a bigger stage like you said, which peaked my curiosity about them.
Ok, swapping between them this morning after 5 or 6 of the same tracks each, it seems the AS give a slightly wider stage and convey more treble than the US pads. Personally, I think the US pads reduce treble too much.

Anyway, the rest of the FR seems similar enough that the changes, if any, don't jump out at me. Mostly stage and treble.

I had the Verite and Empyrean here at my home for an extended(two weeks) a/b. I like both headphones, and mainly comes down to personal preferences.

I found the depth, tonality, musicality to go to the Verite.

Speed and comfort, and ease to drive went to Empyrean.

As I said I like both headphones, but after hearing the Empyrean I did not regret getting the Verite. IMO its a better sounding headphone, especially since I already own a great OTL amp. The price difference was just an added bonus.

I’m all over that.

When do they add the newest limiteds?

I remember reading that Zach said that he he was going to change it up every ~4 months. I just wanted something different than the silkwood and wanted the full warranty.

I also picked up one of the new headphone stands that they have been working on. I'm super excited for the both of them.

Yes, I saw your comparison and that is one of the things that made me take notice of the Verite. That another HP I knew was really good was being compared to the Verite and the Verite was actually preferred. Although, I did get the sense that it was a close decision for you. Plus, who knows if you had more time with the Empy’s?

I spoke to Zachary a bit ago and he said Cocobolo is the next LTD edition

Aren’t the Auteur still being built with Cocobolo? Would Zach build his two top cans with the same special wood?

I have never heard anything like verite (pheasantwood) before. After 100hours they are just very dellicious (high, mid and low) out of bartok and tube amp like wa5.
I tried and bought them straight away, out of curiousity after watched zeos review . So thanks zeos.

Nope. While I did like the Meze quite a bit,it sounded too...linear,for a lack of better word. I prefer the musicality of the Verite more, but you're right, for me,it wasnt a case where I loved one and hated the other. I could easily live with either as my end-game headphone. It just so happens, for my preferred tastes,I made the right choice. YMMV.

He did ziricote in both the aeolus and verite already. Also, the quantity remaining on the Auteur cocobolos was removed from the website a week or two ago. Seems like he purchased to replenish both.

I don’t know why but when I read that I pictured that weird trend a couple years back where people were “butt-chugging” booze...maybe coffee would be less deadly lol.

Well… some people done it for coffee, you can google it :)
