It doesn't, in my experience. I use the hybrid when it's warm, it's more comfortable in those circumstances because it doesn't stick to your skin.Is that all that's different - a bit of suede? How does that make such a difference? (not being funny - probably going to order some based on what folk are saying on here!)

Honestly, i dont have any scientific data to support my post. Its just what i can hear, subjectively of course. But if you think about it, thats how all ZMF headphones and pads work, there arent any major physical differences between the pads and yet they all yield audible difference when used. Take the Eikon perf lambskin and Auteur perf lambskin pads for example. In my auteur, the auteur pad creates a large, spacious, sound stage with airy treble and lush mids with bass in the background. Once you switch to the eikon pads, that same headphone becomes a bassy, narrow soundstage intimate studio with treble and mids tamed and the vocals pushed forward in front of the listener. All these differences only because the eikon pads have a slightly narrow openings. Both pads are identical in every other aspect. Is that all that's different - a bit of suede? Not sure why, but ZMF pads are can create different sounds despite being similar for the most part. I am sure zach the engineer can explain better than i can but pads, despite being suede or lambskin, can make differences. Just my 2 cents.

Any of the fellow VC owners can give recommendations on SS amps with the VCs? I had the schitt magni/modi stack which I liked with the VC but felt the sub 200usd combo wasn't doing the VC justice so I sold it off for thx amp and found it really cold and lifeless. The BF2 and Jot2 stack is on my my radar has anyone tried it with the VC?
IF you can afford it, i would recommend the GSX-mini. Its a great ss amp without the lifeless, sharp, analytical ss sound. Its has a very smooth presentation with lots of power.Any of the fellow VC owners can give recommendations on SS amps with the VCs? I highly recommend ECP DSHA-3F if you're able to get a hold of one. It handles instrument separation really really well, much better than my Asgard 3, and pairs well with my BF2. You can even roll transformers if you want to alter the sound a little bit.Any of the fellow VC owners can give recommendations on SS amps with the VCs? If you cannot afford it - get its little brother, the Gilmore Lite MK2.IF you can afford it, i would recommend the GSX-mini. Its a great ss amp without the lifeless, sharp, analytical ss sound. Its has a very smooth presentation with lots of power.

Another good option would be Flux Lab Acoustic FA-10 or FA-12. the FA-10 has plenty of power to spare with excellent Flux house sound.
I sold it before I got my VC, but I loved the iFi Micro Black with the VO enough to move up to the Pro iCAN which is even better. I imagine there are better options for the price if one just wants SS, but with different tubes I find it pretty amazing in those modes too.Any of the fellow VC owners can give recommendations on SS amps with the VCs? First thing I’ll say is I am glad I opted for the suede suspension strap. It is really comfortable on the top of my head. So much so that I don’t see that I’ll have any need for a pilot/co-pilot pad.
