I'm thinking of getting a new VC and I see there are a lot of pads to choose from! Which pads emphasize the bass the most while largely preserving the rest of the original sound signature?

The stock auteur lamb pads have the most quantity while the universe are a little warmer and punchier due to a little more mid bass.

Zach: The Pilot and Copilot pads are intended to be installed directly over the steel headband, with removal of the flexible band. Is that correct?

As long as the Co-Pilot or Pilot stay on and are comfortable there's no wrong way to put them on, but I do find them more comfortable and easy to put on without the leather or suede strap on.

Amazing finish on that cup... if only the other side was more similar!
I kind of see them as two parts of a globe or a satellite earth view. The one side is like an ocean with a couple tiny islands, and the other side with much larger islands or continents surrounded by deeper and therefore deeper blue ocean.

That's a nice way of thinking about it!

More sets on their website now too! Hard to chose a favourite from that lot, but I think the "fire" of the Camphor is stunning.

The Camphor Burl is, as always, a treat for the eyes. :)

Stunning, but I can't shake the feeling that they are priced at a premium solely because similar ones haven't made an appearance anywhere else yet? I may still grab one. Really like the Desert Purple.

They are priced at our standard list price for them with VAT and such included in the price I believe. Stabilized Burl not only has the up-charge for the burl wood, but then again for the stabilization process which not only takes months, but ends up costing about 5-10x the cost of even extremely expensive/exotic wood. The size of stabilized wood we need for these is really big compared to its typical use, and something that's only been done for us on custom orders of the wood to make it work for our headphones. To put it in perspective, we put this order in for this batch of wood last august, and put another order in in February, which we won't have until this fall/winter.

Where's the downvote button?
As far as wooden headphones go they look average.
Did you seriously create an account to wantonly abuse the word average like that? What does that even mean, what do you want us to get out of your contribution? You do realize that aesthetics are very subjective right?

...Am I feeding the troll?
