Oh, while we're at it
Love me some Ben Harper. :L3000:

I know this is a VC thread but I've just listen to this Youtube link on Pagan folk music with Verite Open and Studio Six. It's downright scary and awesome at the same time.
Check out Heilung. Their live performances are legendary. Throat singers, sticks, bones, deer skin drums. Incredibly primal and powerful.

I think the Empyrean are very easy to run, they sound great out of a usb-c dongle and my phone. That being said, I find the N6ii powers the Verite C just fine though and it sounds much better in my opinion. Imaging is also much better with the Verite C in my opinion.

Thanks for this. Any other comments or aspects to consider when comparing the Empy vs VC running on a DAP?

I just spent the last two hours listening to Pagan Folk music on the VC. Its like these headphones were made for that genre, especially the layering and the drums sound fantastic.

Any recommendations for specific Pagan Folk bands?

Typically I just list off a few bands to check out,but many of my fav artists have figures in their names that my American English keyboard doesnt have.

Check out:

Theres other bands from the genre that are good, like Celtic pagan,or Germanic pagan,Belgian pagan, but I prefer the Nordic pagan folk. It makes my beard grow faster and I go raiding every weekend in my longboat. ;)

Theres also some fantastic Pagan Folk metal bands like Falkenbach.

I have no idea dude...lol. Theyre the pads that came attached . I cant keep the pads names and looks straight.:deadhorse:

Tonight, for the first time Im putting the VC thru the metal grinder. These things wreck metal, especially melodeath, speed and thrash. Fast, snappy, just glorious.

The sub bass drop throughout this song usually gives out about half way down on most headphones, but the VC shook my skull....all the way down. :)

Just gonna leave that here...

LMAO. Dude thats hilarious! At first im like what in the hell does this death metal have to do with an Asian woman cooking with her cat?! Then I saw it. LOL!!!

In all fairness though, theres a pretty vast difference between melodeath, and straight up death metal. You wont find a single death metal song in my metal folder. Not my cup o' tea.

Personally, I’m sold on the Verite Closed, it works great with my portable setup, and my at home Audio Battlestation.

The Empyrean aren’t for me, but they are great headphones, they also scale well from a low level usb-c dongle on a phone to a Phonitor X/XE...just comes down to preference. But, I know a couple folks who have heard both now that much prefer the Verite Closed, and or opens over the Empyrean, also a couple that prefer the Empyrean.

The people that I align with in sound preference are on the Verite side of this equation =) I always try and find people I have similar likes to and read/watch their opinions on upcoming potential purchases to help me decide, as I’ve already determined I trust their opinion, as it usually aligns with things I will like/dislike as well. YMMV... also at the end of the day, the best judge is yourself, always best practice to hear for yourself where/when able when determining a purchase.

Eivor Trollabundin is a great track! That band has a couple other tracks I enjoy also!
