I had a few friends trying to help me and it seems like a few of them had harder captchas. For instance, one has to select all bridges on three different screens whereas mine was just which parts of this image are a stoplight for two images. I would imagine my captcha was much faster to get through.

Yes plenty of parameters are probably at play. I had three pics with stairs to identify for the captcha, so maybe not a fast one...
The one who gets the pair they spotted during the preview is both lucky and fast.

The previous run of VC stabilized never gone that fast. Maybe a pair sold every few minutes and now this run sold out in seconds! Had people gone mad?

this is truly the only way to make sure there is a BOT free release and that everyone will be purchasing with an equal playing field.

Unfortunately RE-CAPTCHA makes your ordering process difficult for many handicapped people.

Also, if the recent GPU/Console shortage has shown anything, it's that recaptcha actually hinders normal buyers and gives the advantage to bots. There are TONS of bots that can solve those in less time than your eye can process them. In addition, some people may get a 3 page one and some may get a one page or just the checkmark letting them pass. That could be the difference between getting a set and not getting a set. Granted, I'm not sure what the solution here is, but I don't think re-captcha is the answer.

The re-captcha is not the bot protection, they are two completely separate things that shopify has on the back end to prevent bot purchasing. None of the orders came back as flagged for "known" bots and we had 30 different people grab sets.

We definitely totally understand the frustration and are always trying to get better at these and will always strive to make each batch better in all ways within our means.
