ZMF Stabilized Release - Friday 9.3.21 at 6PM CST

@zach915m, another beautiful batch.

Two stick above the others for me…Mare Nostrum and Alluvium.

Alluvium in particular is amazing. It looks like my two favorites from the late April batch, Canephora and Arakis, got together and had a baby!

This would have made my internal debate for that April batch a lot shorter!

Curious to know, as this batch is 30 units, is that 30 entirely different unique headphones?
Or something like 5 batchs of say 6 units named XXX ?
Wondering if on release there are different units to pick and buy?

This is easily the most complete ZMF release thus far. That Mare Nostrum is wicked.

Almost tempts me enough to come back to a VC.

Agreed, that Mare Nostrum is my favourite even though I wanted a purple/red set.

Purely buying for the aethetics though, I'm not particularly fond of the Verite Open sound signature and I imagine they are not too dissimilar....

" buying for the aesthetics though" i'd be little cheaper just to search out stabilized birch wood

True, could make a nice stabilized wood table to put other headphones on it :sweat_smile:

I have heard both VO and VC and to my ear they are quite far apart. VC sounds more exciting with deep punch and the 3d-ness just give you a very special spacious feel, and they don't sound 'closed' at all. A very engaging and excellent sounding pair of lovely headphone

Interesting, how do you find the mid-range and vocals? I find the VO bit too recessed for my liking, the other aspects were all good otherwise. I enjoy the Auteurs & Eikon mid range much better. Maybe Zack would do a stablized wood variant of the Eikons one day :yum:

Yes I actually have the same finding on the VO and it is not really my cup of tea. VC sounds really different although they use the same driver. I mainly listen to vocal (especially female) and enjoy every single bit that the VC got to offer, but of course VC sound excellent in many different genre other than just vocal.

I listened to Eikon and Aeolus too - Aeolus is quite similar sounding like VC with VC excels more in technical aspect. Eikon to me is a very calm and easy listening headphone. Each of them are good in their own to suit different kind of taste. Give VC a try and I bet you may fall in love with it :)
