On a side note, just ordered a new tube for the Decware Taboo MKIII. The Decware site said these Cryotone are the real deal. Does anyone have experience with these? Right now, I am using a NOS US Army 5u4g from the 1950's, and it sounds incredible. https://wathenspeakers.com/store/p18/5U4G-WC.html

I also did this today :joy:  I am now a full tube convert. Was looking at tube DACs this morning.

I’m greatly considering getting some Cryotone tubes in the 6SN7 and 5U4G they carry. Be nice to have a set for my WA22.
Anyhow. Congrats on your future purchase. I think you’ll be really happy.

Yeah, 2 years in the future lol. The wait last is crazy long right now. It's no wonder the used price is the same as new.

Thanks! Nothing wrong with the mk3 I have now, but it seems the mk4 steps it up a bit.

I can’t believe the hype surrounding those new production tubes. Actually, I didn’t even know the wait time would be that long! 🫣
Guess business is good.
Many people like us are really cheering for a new production tube line to really kick ass. NOS tubes are getting more scarce and expensive. Lets hope we get more variety in new production tubes at a reasonable cost.

I think we passed by "need any more audio stuff" a long time ago! 🤣

No sorry, not the tubes. The Decware Taboo mk iiii amp. That had a crazy long wait time. If you check their sheet it's about 2 years lol.

The Cryotone tubes have about a 4 to 5 week wait time.

You should probably try their 5U4G tube if you not using a good one right now. I went from a RCA 5U4G to a Wathen Cryotone 5U4G and I notice a step up in overall performance in my system particularly midrange resolution and soundstage. It did tilt my system more on the brighter side, so you should probably keep that in mind if your system is already bright. Besides that they are pretty nice tubes. I got these new a while ago, so I’m trying to see if what they all advertise is actually legit.

Decware waitlist currently has 2,452 entries for amps (or other waitlist products). From tracking my order, I know they currently average about 43 items per month. That puts new orders at about 57 months. That’s nearing 5 years. As a commitmentphobe I think staying on the list for over 2 years is a huge accomplishment for me. It’s longer than my longest relationship. Commitment issues are also why I have no tattoos. I honestly don’t think I could sign up today knowing what kind of wait it is. Maybe I’ll feel differently when my amp comes.

Paitently waiting for a stabilized Aegis.....:o2smile:

Unfortunately, I don't think we going to be able to make that happen with the Aegis (I'd love one, too). Due the nature of how they are produced, we have to purchase large batches of the exact same configuration. While it's not impossible that we may make cosmetic changes down the line (maybe a couple of years from now), we would still be bound by the same batch issue, which isn't really conducive to making stabilized face plates. I would never say never, but I don't see a path to that at this point.

The Homage process is a little bit different and we are happy that we can offer more variety with that particular amplifier.

Yikes!! In that time period... anyone could learn to build their own amp before it's ready
