From left to right: Omni in Walnut and lambskin, x Vibro, Blackwood.

EDIT - Those pics are frightening at full size!  lol

Not yet.  I'm hoping to sample all three at some point, but until then I won't complain about any demo unit.  Zach's the man for making these available for folks to demo in home.

I'm excited to get them out there!  I just finished the last coat of varnish on the first batch of Omni's, not just have to wait through weekend for them to dry and then it's go time!

Mmmm! Doughnuts.

So I know a bunch of people got to try the Omni this weekend at the Schiit Show.  I'm hoping some of them will drop some quick impressions.  :)

I heard the HE-1000 a few days ago. They were pretty comfy and light, though the "velour" pads felt itchy on my cheeks. The unit wasn't burned in at all, since they've just arrived in Taiwan. Highs were a touch rough sounding, sub bass had a hump in the middle. Nice open sound, good detail and separation. Initial impression was a more clinical sound than the Blackwoods, which are more warm/smooth/musical sounding (warm not in the sense of freq. response, but overall feel of the sound). I'm keen to compare the HE1k to the Omnis.

did you get any kind of shipment email or it just arrive randomly? I'm number 24, waiting patiently...

Yeah, you get an email when it ships.  I know Zach's working on some last minute tuning to get things perfect for everyone.  I think you'll be really happy with the result.

Are you part of the Asia/Europe tour?  Because you're separate, and according to the spreadsheet Zach sent, that would make you 3rd...

That prototype set was sent outside of any orders as I sent out a couple sets last week for measurements on alternate rigs and thoughts on tuning from a few people.  It was VERY helpful and I'm in full swing this week as I have finally gotten the sound where it needs to be to start full production.  The good news is that all the cups are dry and ready for action, so things will be going smoothly forward.  Tour sets will be en route ASAP.
