@zach915m so we will not be able to order the aluminium/silver grill version you are even spoiling on the LTD Atrium/Caldera pages in your shop for the upcoming sale?🙄

Actually black grill would look like stainless when got direct hit by light.

Oh sorry - yes this is just the angle - those are black grille's - sorry for the confusion there!

Well plenty of shots of the Kingwood with silver grills ended up looking like the aged copper to me. Funny how the angle and lighting plays tricks like that. Might have bought Kingwood if had that option. Very happy with Coffee stain but new LTD woods look very nice too.

I think it's the brown cloth behind the grill that's causing it.

FWIW, In direct sunlight that issue goes away.

For me Caldera Coffee Oak is the coolest regular wood of any ZMF headphones. Definitely present more "glamour" feeling than Kingwood, but Kingwood is more like "Mature and Retro" to me. Coffee oak "win" in the weight (being the lightest weight version of Caldera), while Kingwood, the wood itself categorised as "rarer and more expensive type".

The new Caldera Redheart Wood is definitely hot!

Caldera Redheart ordered, way too hard to resist.

Cant wait to pair it with newly purchased Cayin HA-3A and compare to iHA-6 solid state :)

Speaking of weight. Has anyone compared the oak with magnesium vs the Kingwood? I never owned a ZMF before and thought weight might be a problem. That is also what drew me to the oak and magnesium. I’ve been luckily with most of my headphones in the past never giving me issues. The one exception was the rare Grado PS1. The ear pads plus the extra weight from thick metal cups was too much after 2 hours.

The magnesium and Oak is much lighter than the Kingwood. Oak is 485-510g and Kingwood is 585 to 610.

comfort is subjective, but comparing Grados to ZMFs in comfort is a night/day proposition

don't get me started on that one.. I've just gone on a journey of massive modifications just to get those cans into a normal state of use. It's almost like they sell Grados daring you to work hard...

ZMF's workmanship and convenience in comparison is superlative. It's, like, ZMF actually wants you to be happy putting them on your head. Imagince that! If only all headphone companies did that.. 😜

The worst part of Grados is I actually like the sound of some of them for rock and blues, but I refuse to own them again based entirely on the lack of comfort. Fortunately the K240 sextetts do what Grados do, but better and none of the comfort issues.

yes, that's a deal breaker for me too; whether it's worth the effort or not, a sidebar to this thread, but yea - putting up with uncomfortable headphones isn't an option. this is a hobby, not a survival test...

If none of those get you to where you want to be you can email us for titan mesh that we can sell you.
Hi! I finally got my Caldera tonight and have been very pleased with the sound! The treble with the stock leather pads can get a bit too much for me with some recordings, but I haven't really burned them in yet and haven't tried the Suede or the Cowhide pads yet. But I was wondering is the titan mesh you are referring to the same one that can be used with the Atrium? And are you talking about the solid mesh or some other one?

I see. Thanks for the reply! Will try burning the Caldera in a bit first and test the other pads as well and then get in touch, if necessary.
