I put together a quick unboxing video of my Kingwood Caldera. Not my best job, given I couldn't get my bigger gimbal to work, but here it is if you're interested:

Apologies if this has been answered already but has anyone tried the Caldera with 300B/2A3 OTC tube amps? I keep seeing in other forums that they really don’t go well with them and would instead go better with solid state amps like DSHA 3F.

@zach915m will you have the Cayin 300B amp at CanJam at your booth for a listen with the Caldera?

Do you have links to share? I have a Stratus and when my friend let me borrow his gorgeous Bocote Caldera I had no problem driving them, where other lower ohm and sensitivity planers would be more challenging due to the current requirements of those models. I would say maybe a Starlett would run into an issue, but that is not a 2A3 DNA amp, think it would work to an extent though a matchup with Stratus/Stellaris would be ideal. For ZMF dynamics, the Startlett was perfect to pair with.

I wanted to do a single-take video in the beginning, so I didn't think to come back and take a video of it separately. And the only footage I got of the card was too hard to mask out my PII, so I cut it out of the video.

I used to be a photo geek in a past life. I also used to do videos for my daughter's harp performances, so I'm a little familiar with video editing as well. I just enjoy doing stuff like that in general, I guess. Thanks

I'm not a tube amp aficionado, and I've only owned two--a ZMF Pendant SE and now a Woo WA5-LE, which is a 300B amp, and I think the pairing is phenomenal. I love it on my SS stack as well, but I definitely prefer it on my tube amp so far. I also bought a 300B amp in anticipation of getting a Caldera, and I haven't been disappointed.
