2nd invoice came in (and was paid as soon as I noticed it). Can't wait! Can't wait! Can't wait! Can't wait! Can't wait! Can't wait! Can't wait! Can't wait! ... well, you get the idea

Incredible that we are all rejoicing the payment of an invoice, but yeah, I'm also rejoicing!! First thing I did after I openend my eyes this morning is checking my email for the invoice, finding the invoice and paying the invoice.
My one and true love is coming home, now better than ever. Reading all of your impressions made it even more exiting. A few more days now and I can listen for myself.
Also curious about the crescent strap that I ordered. Hopefully my Auteurs will never have to leave my head again.
I don't know if this is an answerable question, but I have recently come into the Auteurs (from Aeolus) because I found the most amazing synergy with my ampsandsound Kenzie Encore Deluxe. I heard it with a friend's Auteur, and got my own pair literally hours later. It's given the Encore new life and is an amazing headphone experience (for me, at least, right up there with an SR-007 mk1 on a Mjolnir Carbon). Of course I'm tempted by the upgrade, but I worry that the magical synergy might not be there with the Classics, since they're a completely different driver. Likely objectively and subjectively 'better' but I worry about losing the wonderful pairing.
Any thoughts on how the upgrade changed your pairings, if it did?

Listening to this excellent Visconti mix for the first time. Got the Eikon suede's on the Classic and surprisingly loving them. I sense more pad swapping in my future...

As the above post hints, I will not be sending in my Auteur Original for the ‘update / upgrade’ to Auteur Classic. I do have an Atrium (aged cherry / aged copper). So…..an Auteur Classic itself will just have to be…..to keep the evolution intact:
Apart from the bass which is said to be improved on the Classic/upgrade, are there any other areas that have been improved that you have noticed in terms of sound?
