I really like the Auteur solid suede pads on the AC. It retains the air of the Caldera suede but adds a bit more bass of the Caldera lamb. And being solid, the isolation is increased.

Funny you should say. Just received a pair of Auteur Suedes (solid). I've only had a quick listen and they are better at isolation and while the Caldera Suede Perforated would take some beating, they did sound very good. I'll have a better listen later!

ZMF recommended them as possibly the best option for isolation when I emailed them the other day!

Interesting! This definitely seems like the common consensus here just taking a quick look back on this thread. Do you think they lean more towards the Caldera Lambskin sound or are they more like the Caldera Suedes? Obviously I'm not expecting them to sound the same, but I would appreciate the extra intel. Either way, definitely on my radar now!

And redwood is gorgeous too! That's the nice thing: they're all awesome, just in different flavors.

Was thinking of splurging on the Sonoro from Arctic Cables with my Redwood AC inbound, but it may look even better with yours. (good pics of it in the Caldera thread from another headfier.)

I think they lean more towards the caldera suede side. Airy up top but with added bass.

I'm a happy AC owner since launch (half a year already...). They are on my head almost on a daily basis and every time I have this wow foactor. I listen to a lot of genres and they never disapoint. They add so much body to each note that it makes you FEEL music. As a lifelong musician, this is probably the best compliment I can make to these heaphones. They truly are special for me.
