ZMF Atrium Closed - the latest closed back headphone from ZMF

I hope to have my review later tonight (no promises but working on it). But quick note is that the AC's upper mid and presence are more forward than the VC to my ears. However, there is no sibilance at all and the headphones are non-fatiguing. The Suede pads, to my taste, provide an overall smooth presentation. More to come.
Is it less forward in those areas than the open Atrium ? Can't wait for the review !

Been waiting on the AC and am excited to see it finally almost arrive. Really stoked for the first reviews to pop up and see how it compares to the open Atrium and VC. Gonna be a killer headphone - figured olive is a great first limited wood to be offering

Will there be an Eikon Classic? I may be trading my Atrium so there is an opening for another ZMF ... either to update my Auteur with the new driver, or buy and Eikon classic.

I don't think Atrium closed in this year's budget.
Zach answered your tax question. He also answered the Eikon classic question but if an Atrium Closed isn't in your budget the sub $1000 ZMF closed back should be out this year so maybe that's your next headphone?

I'm personally saving all year for a Caldera open or closed so I'll see what LTD's the ZMF team brew up for this years November event.

Do we know what woods the AC will be available in at CanJam NY?

From what I gather there will be Cherry and Figured Olive Ltds, any others by chance? Not that those two aren't excellent options already, but curious :)

I'm not sure that the Olive Ltds are going to be at CanJam. I think they are going to be the first Ltd run on the website. It sounded like there may be some random custom woods there at CanJam.
Thanks for the clarification, could have misread about the Olives on my part. Interested in the random ones for sure!

I've got some really nice stuff. Queensland maple, thuya burl, cocobolo, redwood burl, black and white ebony and more. I went a little nuts trying to make it fun. No stabilized or resin yet.

I have a few! Maybe 2 or 3. I think it's my favorite sound so far.

I can't wait to see those Olive ones. I'm going to astral project to CanJam and get a pair. What is your tax policy for astral projection?

Thanks. You (really) are too kind. I feel like I've learned as much in the process. A win-win to us all :)

@zach915m any indication on the timing of portable? would love one for trips instead of a vc
I am leaning towards focusing on these instead of Caldera Closed as the next release. Too many very expensive headphones now and I've been working on them for years and they are very close. I don't know, but I'm very excited about them. And they are easy to drive! 80 ohms.

I mean, uncle sam can't tax a state that doesn't exist right?

Curious how well that 80ohm driver takes to tubes… any insight? :) first things first though, I gotta fund an Atrium closed. How about a frequent buyer card? Take 10% off for every previous new ZMF purchase? :) seriously though I wish I could make it to CanJam I’d be coming home with one for sure.
