I've been mixing up the DACs while listening to the AC. Yesterday I received a fully burned in Merason DAC1, an esoteric D/S DAC from Switzerland.
Using the DAC1, the sub bass of the AC was tightened up considerably, but still very strong vs. my Atlantic TRP. The detail retrieval was enhanced as well as a tighter focus on the imaging of the AC.

Like all great headphones, the AC is influenced by the upstream gear being used. The Atlantic TRP is a bass monster of a DAC and without careful consideration of what tubes are being used, the bass can get overwhelming on the AC

If you love acoustic guitars, bluegrass, or both... this recently released wonderful track, partnering the always wonderful Tommy Emmanuel with bluegrass phenom Molly Tuttle, will put a smile on your face.

Enjoying it now on my AC with wonderful tube magic...:

But it's just plain wrong how good your VO looks!! If I were Zach I don't think I could have let that one leave the shop ...
:beerchug:
He almost didn’t 😬

Oh my gosh, that AC looks incredible!
The Marblecake Walnut and Walnut Burl on your old Pendant SE are a match made in heaven. (Plus they sound incredible together)

Here’s the full photo showing them next to the Pendant SE (the grain on the Marblecake is really something isn’t it?)

Now I'm wishing Marblecake Walnut was the LTD Atrium Closed on launch lol. I love Olive Wood but always a fan of darker woods (and everything in my office is Walnut, to boot!)

I just bought a trove of redwood and walnut burl for some releases this summer. Likely the wood after Olive will include those for whatever we call our summer release (burl mania?) if you'd prefer that over Olive.

for anyone with a newer unit that hasn't been broken in, how has the break in been? similar to the Atrium open? I remember my Atrium sounding a bit dull up top for the first 50ish hours then the treble seemed to come forward a bit. or my brain adjusted haha curious if that trend will continue on the AC given the driver is the same. also curious if anyone tried running solid pads on the AC. it was surprising to see perf pads on a closed set, Zach always ran solids. But i see the inner lining is solid, so it seems to be an evolution in the pad design. cant wait for more impressions!
