I lost my speakers/ acoustic room 6 months ago ...

I came back with sadness to headphones...

I disliked all my 9 headphones, till i stumble by reading forums on the AKG K340...

This headphone redefine for me what the soundfield is, not composed of two aspects only but of three...

Soundfield : Imaging differentiation+ soundstage dimensions+ holographical volume of each instrument partially or completely distributed inside the head or/and outside the head....None of these 3 elements are fixed once for all with the K340 , they are variable and recording dependent...

Then i will keep 2 headphones : an optimized and modded K340 and a pristine untouched one in case the first break....

Nowadays headphones matters no more for me, especially at these unjustified high price for a TOTL ...The K340 is a TOTL of the past but even for today by today standards, packed with 2 new/past technologies that make it a King among dwarves... Sorry.... Where is the contemporary headphone with realistic timbre, bass extending deep, highs electrostatic and 3 parts soundfield with holography ? Name it please , i am curious and want to be informed....

If i had plenty of money i will never upgrade to a new headphone , save for another spare K340, but i will bought certainly the solid dac+BACCH filters of Dr. Choueri... And why not a Berning ZOTL amplifier to upgrade my Sansui alpha ?

I love music and use headphone only as an effective tool able to give me a completed 3 parts soundfield not an incomplete one....

Right now I'm really digging the KLH Ultimate One (a severely underrated headphone). I like many of Z reviews, but he totally missed the boat on these during his youtube review a few years ago.
Second one? Hmmm? Tough. I need to think about it a little longer (I like Thinksound ov21, NAD Viso HP50, and HD6XX for different reasons. Either one could be #2).

1. ZMF Aeolus (driven by RSA Emmeline II The Raptor/Bifrost 2 OG with EQ)

It will be very interesting to know why people keept their chosen two, instead of the others headphones they own or knows, and why two and not a single one as i did.... if not it is only a list thread with nothing save brand names to read and often the same names with no explanation ... Just sayin'...
