Painted headphones can look good.  Even purple can be pulled off if applied correctly.  Unfortunately I think your project failed because the paint job is so poor.  Just giving my opinion.

Hi, I just finished painting my Grados! Pics after the explanation
L3000.gif

1. Sanded them down to make them nice and rough

2. Sprayed Rust-Oleum spray plastic primer in a disposable plastic cup, and brush it on the headphones

3. I then put the acrylic paint on

5. Then, I painted some sealer on them.

They used to be SR-60i's, now they're Grado SR-Barney's!

Happy Barneygiving!

In my defense, I wanted them to look sorta home-made

And it didn't FAIL! Nothing fails unless it doesn't look even close to the original plan

And, in my second defense, no matter how horrible it looks in real life, I GUARANTEE that it looks better in real life! It was taken with an iPod touch

Thanks a lot, my thread has more than 800 views and 50 posts,

You don't need primer with acrylic paint.  Acrylic paint is for canvas, not plastic.  The paint job looks like crap.  I've seen toddlers with better hand/eye coordination to stay in the line than that paint job.  The scheme isn't bad, just the job itself was done like crap.

Am I the only one that thinks it needs more varnish? Also, red polka dots. Think about it.
