Going to do the sorbothane mod. Can anyone link me the correct one to buy ?

This is the stuff that I bought:

Have you also tried the Brainwavz Hybrid pads? They rock on the MT220's:

I'm not a big fan of deeper pads. They'll often reduce the mid-range. Had the same issue with Brainwavz hybrid pads with Yammies.

I think HE1000 UltraPad could sound great with Yammies, but not sure they'd fit well since they have an odd shaped oval design. And they are really expensive as well.

Guys, I have been keeping a keen interest on all the mods and pad replacement.

Usually when someone says they prefer a new pad someone else says they don't like it.

My most recent mod (yesterday) is where I use a strip of reasonably firm single sided foam tape behind each ear (placed inside the pads).

Mine is 75mm long 10mm wide and 5mm thick.

I seem to remember Lors and (perhaps others?) doing something similar with cotton wool.

A lot probably depends on your ear shape but I think it gives more top end detail, better sound-stage and more life likeness especially to vocals.

I am reluctant to remove the stock pads as they seem very tight and some say not easy to replace.

P.S. I reserve the right to do a 180 or perhaps a 360, depending on the weather and the time of day!

Didn't know those pads are that huge.. Anyway I wished Brainwavz had some shallower hybrid pads similar to those.

Yeah, here's a photo of someone wearing the HE1000 to give you an idea.

(I actually met this person once. He personally delivered one of his headphones to me!)

I haven't experimented with aftermarket pads for the MT220. You probably remember that all I tried was stuffing gauze under the left and right sides of the pads, which made it so that my ears didn't press against the driver area.

I am in love with the bass from MT220. It sounds so good. So smooth yet punchy....

Listen to this track at very high volume with the MT220. It's one of the few that actually rattled my head! (I don't expect you to like the song, though.)

Yes, I listened and that fast endless pounding drum rattled my head.....
