I just got the EPH-100 for myself! It is great with trance or EDM overall

For vocals GR07. The mids of the fxd80 are recessed and lack lower-mid emphasis resulting in colder sounding vocals.

I only own the EPH-100 and haven't heard the other iems listed here... I think they are great for vocals. Their instrument separation also works very well for jazz.

Back on the bass, I eq'ed my EPH-100 to raise the sub bass by a notch and then reduced the mid bass slightly. This makes the bass sound pretty balanced to my ears.

I use the eph-100 for anything on the go. I haven't tried the jvc or vsonics.

The reason I like the xb90exs is because they actually drop low with the sub-bass (needed with music like Blackmill), and the mids aren't as recessed as cks77 (which drop just as low). EPH-100 are great overall for many reasons, however the bass can't go as deep (but still better than other IEMs I've tried).

which out of the 3 are the most comfortable?

Between EPH and FXD, EPH is more comfortable because for me it is slightly smaller, and lighter. FXD shell has this edges that sting my ear sometimes. Haven't tried Vsonic.
Sony XB90EX has big round shell that sits on your ear so that is quite comfortable for me.

For those genre I picked either Yamaha or Sony. For me Yamaha is a bit more versatile than Sony though.

Hi guys, I'm a Trance DJ and also having a hard time choosing between these 3. All I listen to is trance but if detail is the key then I think the JVC would be better, or am I not correct?

Yamaha EPH-100 specs:

Product Features
Driver Type: Dynamic, Closed
Driver Unit: Φ6 mm (1/4”)
Impedance: 16 ohms
Sound Pressure Level: 104 dB ±3 dB
Frequency Response: 20 Hz – 20 kHz

---

JVC HA-FXD80 specs:

Driver Unit 5.8mm
Frequency Response 8 - 25,000 Hz
Impedance 20 ohms
Sensitivity 102 dB/1 mW
Max. Input Capability 150mW(IEC)

It looks like FXD80 wins in the freq response department, is this something I should seriously consider?

Thanks mate!

I'm buying them for £99.90 tomorrow from AudioAffair.

The is only one place that seems to have them in stock within UK.

So, is it safe to say that these eph100s are the best IEMs under £100 for trance music?

Even better than this year's What Hi-Fi 2012 winner... Beyerdynamics 101?

Or maybe Etymotic HF5?

Btw, I listen to uplifting trance most of the time. :)
