hah, I'm always glad I keep a laptop running XP around. Makes a lot of stuff easier

Now, where can I get the tiny hex tool I need to open up this and the X2 and other recent gadgets. None of my hex tools go down to such a small size.
So I tryed to start the x3 using the power switch, I just see a splach screen "rockbox" and a message saying something like " bad nan sectors" "i'm not sure, it stay only few seconds.
fiio ex1I think you
what headphones do you use with it?
I'm affraid I just brick my X3, trying to install Rockbox on it.
All the installation was going fine, but the point 11 ("After successful installation Rockbox will start automatically") never happens.
I waited 5 minutes, but screen still black.
So I tryed to start the x3 using the power switch, I just see a splach screen "rockbox" and a message saying something like " bad nan sectors" "i'm not sure, it stay only few seconds.
Now I cannot switch it on anymore: nothing happens.
I tryed to reset: nothing
I tryed to power on holding other buttons; nothing.
Please can somebody tell me what to do?
Well the Xduoo has no internal storage, so this is with your SD card right?
if so then you have a bad SD card, try a new one.
if you are trying to start it without any SD card... you have corrupt flash memory inside the Xduoo, return it for warranty replacement, it's a hardware issue.

Anyone,
Completely new to Rockbox. I downloaded the Sansa Clip+ manual from http://www.rockbox.org/manual.shtml. Is this the best manual choice for a newbie on how to use Rockbox on the X3?
ADDENDUM:
With a couple of folks now reporting installation problems I may just sit back and wait for this release to fully mature.
Xvortex,
Both my 128Gb SD cards are ExFat so it looks like I need to reformat one to Fat32 and then load all my music files again which will take quite some time as the cards are near full.

If you do decide to go ahead with the rockbox installation, if I were you, I'd try to find an old microSD card for the job. Any old 2 gig or 4 gig etc card will do it fine. Once the installation is complete, you can copy the rockbox folder over to your 128gig card(s). I can't see any reason why that won't work. It will save you a LOT of hassle with re building your big libraries on the big cards.
My installation went fine, but, I'm an old luddite deliberately hanging well back behind the crest of the tech' wave. I'm using XP SP2 ! Even XP isn't happy with the USB driver/interface but I don't use a direct connection with the X3 for file transfer, I use a card reader.
Actually, I did have one scary moment while doing the installation. I followed the directions to the letter. When I installed the USB driver, nothing else happened with the installation script. So, I unplugged the X3 and reset it. Then reconnected it and rebooted the instal script. The script got working and did the whole thing in less than 2 minutes. At first I was expecting more to happen, because there is a list of 'actions' on the screen while the script runs. Eventually, I assumed it had run all it was going to, and unplugged the X3. I reset it again, then pressed the power button. It booted up perfectly, into Rockbox.
