Xvortex,
Both my 128Gb SD cards are ExFat so it looks like I need to reformat one to Fat32 and then load all my music files again which will take quite some time as the cards are near full.

ADDENDUM:
With a couple of folks now reporting installation problems I may just sit back and wait for this release to fully mature.
If you do decide to go ahead with the rockbox installation, if I were you, I'd try to find an old microSD card for the job. Any old 2 gig or 4 gig etc card will do it fine. Once the installation is complete, you can copy the rockbox folder over to your 128gig card(s). I can't see any reason why that won't work. It will save you a LOT of hassle with re building your big libraries on the big cards.
My installation went fine, but, I'm an old luddite deliberately hanging well back behind the crest of the tech' wave. I'm using XP SP2 ! Even XP isn't happy with the USB driver/interface but I don't use a direct connection with the X3 for file transfer, I use a card reader.
Actually, I did have one scary moment while doing the installation. I followed the directions to the letter. When I installed the USB driver, nothing else happened with the installation script. So, I unplugged the X3 and reset it. Then reconnected it and rebooted the instal script. The script got working and did the whole thing in less than 2 minutes. At first I was expecting more to happen, because there is a list of 'actions' on the screen while the script runs. Eventually, I assumed it had run all it was going to, and unplugged the X3. I reset it again, then pressed the power button. It booted up perfectly, into Rockbox.
Appreciate the advice about using a small FAT32 card and then moving the rockbox folder to my 128Gb ExFAT card. A lot less painful for sure.
About your scary moment.... I wonder if installing the USB driver BEFORE attempting the installation process should be the default method. I note in Xvortex's instructions he says "9) Install the driver for JZ4760 USB Boot if you didn’t install it previously."
I'm running Win 7 SP1 64 bit FWIW. I'm assuming that driver is good to go for both 32 and 64 bit Windows flavors.
