OMG😳

Not even burned in.
Another beast of an amp(with Philips Miniwatt ECC 81 early 60s).

How about gain with the ECC81?
I do have more ECC81 and ECC83 but was scared of damaging the amp .

In the moment I am running a Genalex GZ34. Makes a lot of bass, but the mids and highs are too veiled. See if it changes with longer burn in.

No problems with ECC81, just less gain. Have tried 82 and 83. 81 is the most musical(for me).
Using the ECC81 now for over 2 months.

Should be more scrared using a GZ34. Dont think the amp is made for these.

Thanks for the information.
Concerning the GZ34 I trusted this guy on YouTube:

Mixed this up:
According to the National Valve Museum, GZ34 is rated for 550 volts and 160 mA and has a 1.9 A heater. The older GZ30 is only rated for 350 volts and 125 mA, and the heater current is given as 2 A. It would work if and only if the GZ34 was being under-run.

Seems I was too early with my jugdement of the original 12AU7/ ECC82. In combination with the Genalex GZ34 they build a neutral, deep, clear, detailed picture. Maybe not for those, who want a lush, warm, tuby sound, but far from cool and bloodless. Certainly the cheapest upgrade by tube rolling.
In comparison to my 5Z4G the Genalex GZ34 produces a very punchy bass ( compareable to a 2-3 db EQ), while the 5Z4G opens more the mids and highs.
5Z4G in combination with Genalex ECC82 and Genalex34 with original ECC82 are very close in sound.
Can't say, what I will prefer now. All the tubes still don't have more than 20-40 hours burn in, so we have to wait what still comes.

This is my second time buying this amp this year. I owned it for 1 month previously before selling it to buy the cayin ha3a...but I really missed how great this amp sounded for $500 that I purchased another unit used and it is now being used as a backup-amp for shorter listening sessions. Definitely stock tubes were boomy and uncontrolled. Swapping to any solid tubes like JJ or new production mullards tightened up the bass. NOS brimars or mullards added warmth to the midrange and smoothed out the sound overall. Honestly for how good this amp sounds for $500, it really doesn't get talked about enough. Serious sleeper hit.

I'm interested in that Cayin as well, how is it?

It really is amazing. It's one of the few amps under $2000 that I felt sounded within the same realm as ultra high-end amps like Formula S, woo audio wa23, or feliks Envy. 12au7 and 6v6gt are tubes with lots of options out there, allowing for a seriously versatile platform to tube roll to get the sound you want.

The TA-32 looks pretty awesome. Is there any more information about it?

Well it looks like a ta22 but with I assume is the tube configuration of the ta20+. A dac/amp with a rectifier (same 5z4p?) and 2 12au7s, probably an upgrade over the ta22.
That sounds like a solid prediction.
