Another beast of an amp(with Philips Miniwatt ECC 81 early 60s).

I use genalex GZ34. Works perfectly fine.No problems with ECC81, just less gain. Have tried 82 and 83. 81 is the most musical(for me).
Using the ECC81 now for over 2 months.
Should be more scrared using a GZ34. Dont think the amp is made for these.
I'm interested in that Cayin as well, how is it?This is my second time buying this amp this year. I owned it for 1 month previously before selling it to buy the cayin ha3a...but I really missed how great this amp sounded for $500 that I purchased another unit used and it is now being used as a backup-amp for shorter listening sessions. Definitely stock tubes were boomy and uncontrolled. Swapping to any solid tubes like JJ or new production mullards tightened up the bass. NOS brimars or mullards added warmth to the midrange and smoothed out the sound overall. Honestly for how good this amp sounds for $500, it really doesn't get talked about enough. Serious sleeper hit.

It really is amazing. It's one of the few amps under $2000 that I felt sounded within the same realm as ultra high-end amps like Formula S, woo audio wa23, or feliks Envy. 12au7 and 6v6gt are tubes with lots of options out there, allowing for a seriously versatile platform to tube roll to get the sound you want.I'm interested in that Cayin as well, how is it?
I think that's the only photo...for now.The TA-32 looks pretty awesome. Is there any more information about it?
Well it looks like a ta22 but with I assume is the tube configuration of the ta20+. A dac/amp with a rectifier (same 5z4p?) and 2 12au7s, probably an upgrade over the ta22.The TA-32 looks pretty awesome. Is there any more information about it?
That sounds like a solid prediction.Well it looks like a ta22 but with I assume is the tube configuration of the ta20+. A dac/amp with a rectifier (same 5z4p?) and 2 12au7s, probably an upgrade over the ta22.
