It took 1,5 week from ordering the Little Pinkie, till I received mine. Usually it takes about a week, but Mike builds it by hand, when he receives the order, so if he is busy, it might take a bit longer.
Mike is a nice guy, and it´s a pleasure doing business with him, so you should be perfectly safe

I can support that. There is no risk in buying a Little Pinkie from Mike.

I got my Pinkie in the mail today and it looks pretty tough. Still incredibly anxious to get the X-Can V8P.

Thumbs Up and support for the XcanV8! its an underrated Amp. With the addition of the PSU, its certainly an AMP to look out for

Have heard much pro and cons discussed, but i don seem to have the same issue as many faced. Listening Volume seldom hits 12 o clock and most of the time is 10-11 o'Clock.

I bought the PSU together with the XcanV8. it definitely improve the sound of the AMp a lot. Most obvious is the lower Noise floor which in turns expands the sound stage.. notes acquire some airness, bass becomes punchy and overall music preentation is smooth and tamed. I guess its all the same across the board with power upgrades. Although i have not heard the pinkie.. but i guess it should work the same. Only difference is how much improvement i guess. Any one with PSU and Pinkie comparism to share though?

As the V8 comes with double headphone inputs, it makes it extremely convenient for me to switch phones when i need to change the genre of the music i listening to

Using HD650 a lot with the V8 and IMHO, is quite a good match.

darlim,welcome to headfi.
nice to hear you like your x can v8.
I'm looking forward to get my psu(haven't decided which one though)
I would like to get a better interconnect and some cd's/sacd's for my collection too,and the xpsu v8 is a bit expensive...I'm not going to hurry,i think it's better to wait a bit longer to hear and other peoples impressions on xpsu v8 vs little pinkie

John53, love those amps.

But do consider if you are into the Musci Fidelity Range , cos the PSU is able to power 2 more X series units for future expansion. I am looking for the phon stage for future expansion

In any case, you can always treat it as a one off Power upgrade. It will improve the "stock: sound a lot

Have you considered getting the XpsuV3? Its cheaper than the v8 version and they are basically the same ... except slight , i mean really slight difference in the chassis. V8 is more chiseled whle the edges of the V3 is rounded.. but stack on top of each other.. not that bad

darlim,I'm currently placing Russian 1985's 6N23P tubes, it sounds more musical and has better clarity, more details and better bass control. I haven't tried other good ones, but think there will bring improvement too.

darlim, maybe you should try to find another place to put your xpsu, because the v8 needs some space for ventilation.

Btw,i have placed my v8 on the top of my dvd player,do you think that the dvd would cause more undesirable heat to the v8?

Count me in on this, the v8 is indeed very much underrated. As for tubes, I have tried Sylvanias, Westinghouse, Siemens (cheaper), and Amperex. The Amperex tubes work really well with the v8. Currently I'm using a pair of Amperex orange label that were made in Great Britain, very good results. I also have a set of Amperex that are branded as RCA, those are very good as well. Be sure to keep an eye on Ebay, you can get good tubes for very reasonable prices. As for voiding the warranty, it was worth it
