For 200 euro it's a no brainer. I paid at least 250 euro for the amp with stock psu

Retailed for somewhere around 400-500€ in my country back then. That is without the psu which is pretty expensive by itself. Bought mine used for driving my he-500

Yes, I've tried, and I'm sorry to say that this was a terrible idea, though others liked it, I didn't it made things way too soft and organic sound.
 
Planar Magnetic benefit the most from Solid State, which this amp is not
