I currently have the Plantronics gamecom 377 with a razer barracuda sound card and im looking to get the m50's or 555's.
 
I only have $50 right now and might take a while to get enough for the m50's or 555's so i was looking at the HD 201/202's but didnt think they would be much of an upgrade.
 
I listen to a lot of MGMT and Lights and play FPS games.

If you're highly considering the M50s, don't bother with anything lower grade. Just save up enough and just get the M50s. Otherwise, you'll just end up with the 201s that you'll not be happy with and you'll have to save up all over again for the M50s that you really wanted in the first place.

You'll probably come across another $50 quicker than you think, and then it will be a worthy upgrade.

Be patient until you have some more money. What's the point wasting it on a set of headphones you definetely won't like? If you have your sights set on those Audio Technica ATH-M50's, inferior headphones definetely WON'T satisfy!

So the m50's are better then the 555's?  I often hear gamers like myself recomend the 555's since they are great for both gaming and music.  They are about the same price off of ebay from good sellers (120-140 shipped).
 
theres some m50's here for $75 but they dont look legit

I have had two pairs of the HD555 and think they are great for gaming(I play a lot of counter-strike[cal,esea,etc.] and MW2). I haven't heard the m50s but let me just say if you are doing a lot of lanning you might want the m50s since it will block out more outside noise.
 
Too bad you are in Canada since there is a great deal on HD555s right now. If you have a friend in the states might ask him to get them and work something out on paypal(I don't know if this comment is aganst forums rules. I apologize ahead of time).
