well I already like the HM-602. I just hope that the HM-601 be somewhat just as good as the HM-602. BTW, it shipped today, so I will be getting it soon.

I hope I'll be reading your comparisons soon!

Plus a few of us have made comments on the 602 v Sflo2.  More input would be welcome.

I know it's a cost cutting measure, but 2gb is pretty measly. That means the max storage capacity is 34gb, which IMO is a HUGE deal breaker.

I would have bought one straight up if it were 8gb+

Does anyone know what 32 gig SDHC cards work with this or the HM-602 player?

Has to be Class 4 or slower.  I use cards made by PNY and they have never failed me so I have no reason to try others out.

I am interested in this but battery life seems crap.

It lasts for a day, at the least. However if you forget to charge before you get to bed, or you stay in a place where you can't charge for two-three days, then crap. Look for Cowon with its marvelous battery life(I believe the new X7 has an incredible 103 hours).

People have had success with class ten cards. http://www.head-fi.org/forum/thread/450722/hifiman-hm-801-sdhc-card-list

Not on the 602.  Fang clearly said only Class 4 on the 602 somewhere.  This is not the 801 thread.

It "can" but it really shouldn't. The DAC chip in it can't properly handle above 16bits, it still plays them but the jury is out on if it's good or not (better/worse than redbook).

Why do you want 24bit files for portable use? 95+% of the time it probably isn't worth it. The HM-801 will play them, as will the Colorfly. I think there might be a few other player but I've never bothered paying much attention to them.
