well I already like the HM-602. I just hope that the HM-601 be somewhat just as good as the HM-602. BTW, it shipped today, so I will be getting it soon.

I hope I'll be reading your comparisons soon!

Plus a few of us have made comments on the 602 v Sflo2.  More input would be welcome.

Planning to get either the hm 601 or S:flo2. Hope to figure if the hm 601 is worth the extra cash.

I just made an order for a RE0 today, but then noticed about the RE-ZERO and sent an email if I could switch. Now I notice this! So for 150 dollars I could get a HM-601. Not a fan of NOS DAC´s, but I think I might just go for it :)

My Sennheiser IE8 suffered a cruel fate. First of all my cat bit the cord in two, and before that I once forgot them in my jeans when they were washed. Needless to say they never sounded the same again :p Due to my recent good experiences with another Chinese audio company (Audio-gd), I think I´ll go that route for my portable gear too!

Can the 601 play 96/24 FLAC?

Sorry if this is a stupid question but I'm looking for something that can play HDtracks.
It will play them just not as cleanly as 24/48 apparently.  So if you wanted to recode to 24/48 you would be set.  24/96 does 'play' though.

Personally, I absolutely love the sound I'm getting from 24bit tunes on the 602. Definitely a step up from 16bit to my ears.

Also, the much discussed "high-end roll-off" isn't a problem that needs a "fix" imho, it's a meaningless scientific comparative measurement of a sound signature. You might, like me, prefer this signature to any other portable digital music player you've ever heard. So not a problem for me!

So wait it's pretty much an iPod that's got a headphone amp built in. but it can only store 2gb? When I buy my new IEM's I'm converting my files to higher quality (maybe even losless) so 2gb won't cut it...

Oh my, ... this thing has a 32 GB SD card slot where you can put cards in and pull them out again. So you can store as much music on as much cards as your money can buy and use them with the player ...

Fangs pwns. If I wanted a new portable player or IEM, then I would buy this immediately.

On the other hand, if they discount their orthos, then I would be in the market.

The HE6 is discounted :) There's an introductory price so you're getting a $100 or $200 discount depending on if you bought their headphones from them in the past.

I bit. I have high expectations of this player. I hope that it sounds better than my s:flo 2.

I spent $400 on the Teclast T51 and CK10 alone, and then I see this deal.

Looking forward to your impressions!
