Is that even better than the tried and tested Flowbee?

Could never find the right sized bowl. I was aiming for the Moe look.

I have been buzz-cutting my own hair with a beard trimmer for a long time. The battery pack died the other day, and I patched in a wall wart with more voltage. I cut my hair two days ago, and half way through, I found that it was set too close. Too late! It will grow back, but the trimmer did what I feared - it died. Another cherished piece of gear is history...

Been clipping my own head for about 10 years. If I need to get cleaned up all proper - I'll get some help.

The look of my hair is usually not the highest on my list of priorities, and if I don;t shave it for a while I end up looking like crusty the clown.

The first few times are a bit awkward but you get the hang of it pretty quickly I reckon.

My GF is graduating from cosmetology school here soon within the next 2 months. She's going to be a color specialist, and hardly ever cuts mens hair. But I let her practice on me whenever I need a haircut. It's only hair, and it grows back. She's only botched me once and I had to shave my head...but meh, my hair is usually either shaved of I have something going on up there....so nothing new.

Yeh i decided to do it the other week. I had longer hair and got sick to death of it so one night after getting pissed i got a set of clippers and hacked it off! At the time i thought i had done a great job of it, until my girlfriend pointed out a bald patch on the side of my head. It was really obvious once i saw it. made me a bit paranoid for a bit. It's grown a lot now. Don't think I'll do that again in a hurry!

I cut my own hair for about 8 yrs now. Over here you pay at least €20 (or something like that; it's been a while

) for a cut and when I asked, only a bit they say yes, no problem. I always ended up with at least 10cm off which is just too much.
That's when I decided to do it myself. With my curly hair it's not noticable when it's not done neat anyways and when I had dreadlocks, well who cares how they got cut.

Uniform 1/8th inch cut, usually every week. Vidal Sasoon clippers, $11 at the supermarket. It's clean, easy, and most importantly gives me ventilation for the hard hot work in Florida. Tried shaving but my head gets irritated too easily, I'm better off leaving the stubble.

I cut my own hair sometimes, since it costs like €20-30 here just for a simple washing + 10-15 min cut.
But sometimes I like not looking like someone ran over my head with a lawnmower, that's when I fork over the dough anyway.

I've been cutting my own hair for about four years now with a Wahl clipper. It paid for itself with less than three haircuts and I've only had two minor mishaps.
