Looking for a portable DAC to use with a netbook. Here is a list of the ones I have looked at so far, let me know what you think is the best option, or another product you know of that might be great, or even a combination of these, like the digital out on one to the digital in on another i.e. Asus U3 > UH6-S.

E-MU series (0202, 0204 etc..) doesn't look to portable
Fiio E7
Creative X-Fi HD USB
ASUS U3 Portable DAC (Only Dolby Headphone capable DAC here, kinda nice.)
HRT Music Streamer II High Resolution USB D/A Converter
NuForce Icon uDAC2-HP

Sumiko Pro-Ject USB Box
Leckerton Audio DAC's (like the UH6-S)

I really like the iBasso D-Zero, especially compared to the E7.

That looks like a really good deal for about 100 bones, has some very handy features too. Definately at the top of my list right now.

Apparently the new (yet-to-be released) Fiio E10 is quite good.  Doesn't have a battery or anything, but it's smaller in size than the E7.  There's a review of it up on Headfonia right now.

That E-10 sure looks great with its ability to play 24/96, I wish it had a battery and they added $30 to the price. Right now I'm looking at the iBasso D6, though I'm not sure the battery is worth $220 more for it than the E-10 as they both have the 24/96 over usb capability. Is there a cheaper iBasso that can do 24/96 over usb? Would it make a difference to use a 24/96 Dac if I play 16/48 Flac?

24/96 won't make any difference if all of your files are 16/48.  Arguably, it won't make any difference even if you were using high-res files.

It also depends on implementation. My 16/44.1 dac sounds better than some cheap 24/96 dacs that I've heard before but none of those are portable..

Thats true, 24/96 basically jsut means you can play high-rez files if you have them on your com
