1976, late summer, Stax SR-5 headspeakers, listening to Dark Side of the Moon at my friend Tony's house. The headphones I think were powered by a SDR-6 energizer, driven by an Advent reciever from Linn turntable (can't remember what the cartidge or tonearm was).

Too bad my source/amp isn't going to be nearly as impressive... >_>

Audio-Technica A900LTD. When I first got them, I started checking them with all possible sources. Plugged them into my nano, dropped on the bed and in about an hour fell asleep... to see weirdest dreams about the songs playing at the moment. I don't wear them to bed any more

While the SR-80s really impressed me (biggest jump from previous headphones for sure) I was totally knocked out while listening to The Dark Side of the Moon through HD-580s for the first time. All the upgrades since then have been smaller absolute steps, but each one is closer to getting totally out of the way and leaving only me and the music.

Well, mine was listening to Dave Brubeck's Time Out album using my DT880. That was the time I realised how in adequate the MS1 and SR60 was.

I thought I was achieving eargasm with my ER4P, but it really didn't "happen" for me utill I meet the HD580. I'm sure the HD650 would make my toes curl. Don't get me wrong, the ER4P's are great, but we're just friends now.
