Hi Head-fiers, I'm suffering from which close headphone is proper for classical. The price is supposed to be controlled below $300.
By the way, I'm going to have a Little Dot LD I+ with WE408A tubes. Seems this amp will work well with low impedance headphone.

How come you're limited to closed cans?

Anyways, Ultrasone might be a good option, as they try to simulate a more spacious soundstage (I reviewed the 650 Pro awhile back).

closed cans will not disturb others surrounding me, especially benefit to my baby. I'm looking into DT770 series. Which impedance model will be suitable for classical?  I know 600ohm s too high to drive well.

ATH is never a choice for serious listening of classical music.
For closed phones and your budget, you can grab AKG K271s or the new K272hd given that you have amp already.
AKGs can get the tonal quality right without suffering too much from the closed back design.
I don't if 272hd still have the automute feature, that is one of the coolest feature for not disturbing others.

Get the Beyer 770 32ohm, or 80 ohm with a portable amp like the Fiio E5, or even dac-amp combo like Fiio E7, then you are in audio heaven. The 770 is has the best midrange you will get for under $500 closed HP !

Have fun with your music.

You're right, kind of. Something about Audio Technicas only let some of them work in pop-voiced orchestral and jazz songs. My AD2000 and W1000 Audio Technics don't sound quite right with classical. I just tried my W1000 with Beethoven's Symphony #7 and you can hear the emphasis on certain areas of the sound spectrum that would otherwise sound right with acoustic and jazz.

However, my ESW10JPN and my friend's A700 sounds very good with classical.

I stand corrected
