Do these really hurt?

They look so innocent. Ha, ha, ha, ...
I have never tried them.

I've tried the SR125s and I know that they deliver pain:

Very much so for me and my head size is far from ginormous. I just got them and I'm trying to bend the headband as advised.

No discomfort with my Grados yet, but I haven't had much listening time with them. I hope they don't hurt too much.

The Sennheiser HD280s were like a clamp, and they made my ears hot. I am glad I got rid of them (I also was unimpressed with SQ).

I have MS-1s with Bowls and they're okay, however I can't use them for more than ~40 minutes though before they start to hurt.

The GS-1000s are very comfy IMO.

Pioneer SE-500.. heaviest headphone I've ever had the misfortune to wear. Sounds awful too.

The SE-700 isn't very comfortable either, but I think it's a little lighter. It doesn't sound horrible, but it's not great either.

Garbage cans, too narrow.

Seriously, full-size Philips are quite hot and heavy. I prefer Senns and AKG's for it lightweight materials. Beyer OTOH seems to offer ultra comfy velour pads. (FWIR)

I'd have to say some of the Sony ones. The Grado's from the SR-60's to SR-225's aren't bad, but the 325i's added weight strains your ears. I use sound transparent foam to improve comfort. Oh and the Koss KTXPRO1 is very uncomfortable.

I have the K518LE and I wear glasses, and I do not find them terribly uncomfortable. I can wear them for an hour to an hour in a half just getting warm ears, no real pain. When I move my glasses up above the cups I can wear them even longer. I wonder if the DJ and LE have more differences other than just the cord length and color?

Definitely my first serious can in the 70’s, the Koss Pro 4AA, sweat like crazy and the weight would stop the blood circulating on the top of your head.

+1 Only way I can wear these, is laying down.

No problems with my 325i though.
